3 Bedroom House in Southwest Harbor

Welcome to our lovely 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home with a game room and a great backyard surrounded by 1 acre of wooded land which makes it a perfect spot for a fun family vacation!
On the first floor we have 2 bedrooms, a full bath and a sun room. The first bedroom has 2 twin beds; the second bedroom has a queen bed. It also has an open-style living room and dining area along with a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has two skylights with a cathedral ceiling which makes it a light and airy space, ideal for relaxing. The living room also has a wood burning fireplace, ideal to getting cozy by in the evenings .
Adjacent to the living room is a very welcoming sun room. The sun room has large windows and a table and comfortable chairs that can seat six. It overlooks the woods and is a great place for morning coffee. The sun room has sky light and a door that opens to the lower deck. On the lower deck we have built in benches, a grill, a chaise lounge and table and chairs that seat up to 6 people.
On the lower level there is also a garage that has been turned into a game room. We have set it up with an air hockey table, a pool table, a ping pong table, chalk boards as well as a basket full of outdoor toys.
Upstairs we have an open loft that has a table for games, comfortable reading chairs and a closet full of board games and puzzles. From the loft, there is an entrance to the upper deck where you can find 2 built-in chaise lounges.
The backyard has stacked firewood, a hammock with pillows as well as a badminton/volley ball net. The basketball hoop is in the driveway. Other amenities that we have to offer include two TVs, DVDs, VCRs, and a film library. This property is located in a well-established community and privacy is guaranteed. Surrounded by one acre of woodland, this home is ideal for a family getaway!
Close by (.4 mile) is the Causeway Club golf course that is open to the public. The center of Southwest Harbor is just 1.8 miles away and can be reached in less then 4 minutes. The swimming beach at Echo Lake is just 2 miles away. The sand beach makes it ideal for children and adults. If you are interest in renting a canoe or a kayak, Long Pond will accommodate you and is just 6 miles from the house. Also nearby is a host of Acadia National Park’s hiking trails. The local supermarket is just a half a mile away – ideal if you need anything or for quick stops.

Summary: This was one of the nicest houses we've ever stayed in. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was convenient and easily workable. We really enjoyed the dining nook. The living room was very relaxing. The game room was a velcome bonus. This house is within walking distance to the IGA and downtown Southwest Harbor but its still a very quiet lot. Flying Mountain trail is less than a mile away. Even though we had to cut our week short and it rained most the days we were there, our experience was still very positive. I would definitely stay at this house again.

Summary: Quiet location on wooded acreage close to grocery, good restaurants and not far from tourist sights. Well equipped kitchen with lots of spices. Enclosed sunroom off kitchen with view of woods is great place to relax. Gameroom in garage is a bonus although we did not have time to use it. Especially enjoyed hot shower with massage shower head. Phyllis is a gracious host and easy to contact and get in touch. Had a great stay.

Summary: Clean house with lots of space to relax and quiet neighborhood to escape from the crowds. Close to good hiking trails and the food mart. Good place to relax after a day of hiking. Owner is very friendly and responsive.

Summary: We couldn’t have ask for a better stay. The house was perfect and had everything we needed and more. The location on the quiet side is great with many great hikes for all ages nearby as well as food options and easy drive to the loop and bar harbor. Phyllis was so helpful and gave lots of great tips before we arrived. Can’t wait to come back again!!

Summary: This home in the woods just outside Southwest Harbor is lovely. Warm and cozy, well appointed, inviting. Easy walk to town, the coves and great hikes. Easy drive to NE Harbor, Bar Harbor, Acadia and Schoodic. The game rooms are excellent and we used them a lot. Hammock is great. The upper deck with lounge seats was perfect for star gazing. Grocery within a mile. We loved it here and hated to leave. We hope to return again.

Summary: We enjoyed our week long stay on the “quiet side” of Mount Desert Island. This home was a great base to get to the sights we wanted to see while being away from the bustle of Bar Harbor. Grocery store is very close and town of Southwest Harbor is just down the road. Better yet, Flying Mountain trailhead and swimming at Echo lake were also very close! House was generously stocked with paper products, soap and pantry items. Kids loved the game room!

Summary: The cottage was perfect and we really couldn't have asked for better. Super clean, bright & airy, lots of different spaces and nooks, and a wonderful game room that we enjoyed. The cottage is situated in the woods & the setting is beautiful. Also very close to Acadia Natinal Park, a bunch of great trails, & Echo Lake. Owner is lovely & gave us a welcome call to make sure we were settled in.. Highly recommend & would rent this cottage again in a heart beat! Thanks, Phyllis, for sharing your cottage with us!
