Summary: We arrived for a short weekend trip to an extremely hot cottage. It’s possible the AC window units were not turned on until a few hours before we arrived. The downstairs bedroom does stay pretty warm even into the night hours. The downstairs bedroom also needs a new mattress, it was like sleeping on a cardboard box. There was an odor in the home when we arrived. The location is ideal, away from the highway and a quick 12-13 minute drive to the beach and into town.

Summary: The outdoor areas were beautiful, our kids loved having the extra area to run around. The dock could use some repairs, but it wasn't horrible. The pond itself was very peaceful. The upstairs area was pretty hot, but after plugging in the provided fans, it was comfortable. The staircase leading upstairs was pretty steep, so little kids have to be especially careful. All in all, it really was a fantastic place. We were very sad to have to leave, but we do plan on trying to come back another time!!

Summary: The pictures of this home do not accurately show how dangerous the steps are inside the home. It is set up to be a room for children to sleep almost. I can assure u unless your kids are 10 or over you will not feel safe letting them go upstairs. They are very steep and narrow. Also there is a balcony up there that has no lock on the door so kids could go out there at any time and fall. We had to have all of our three kids sleep on the floor of the living room because the pictures of the upstairs were not accurate.

Summary: The cottage itself is cute, clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Everything went well with the booking, check-in, check-out, and communications. We had very happy times there. But the REAL attraction of Grouper Cottage is the million-dollar setting. Once you've turned in from the street and driven down the long driveway, you're in a world of your own. No traffic, no noise, just quiet beauty. That pond you've probably seen in the photos is bigger, prettier, and more peaceful than it looks -- and it is literally just steps outside your door. You can sit at the outdoor table and listen to the splashing of the fountain that helps keep the pond fresh. Watch the ducks. Spot turtles poking their heads above the water. Admire the vast expanses of lawn and nature. Even though there's a second, bigger rental cottage on the property, you'll feel as if you're on your own private estate. One note for older adults: The second bedroom is up a very funky set of stairs, and when you get to the top the ceilings are low enough that you'll need to duck. It's cute up there and there's a tiny private deck, too. But clearly the upstairs bedroom is best for kids or teens. Grownups should probably treat this as a one-bedroom house.
