Spacious Contemporary Home on 1.4 acres of Wooded Property Close to Beach & Town. It is approximately 1 mile from the main road that runs between West Tisbury and Edgartown. You can pick up the bike path at this point which goes to all main towns. The VTA buses also pick up along this main road (MV Transit Authority).
A quiet area, not far from Long Point Wildlife Refuge, our home is located toward the end of Vineyard Meadow Farms Road. The house is 1 mile from the Atlantic Ocean where you can swim in either the ocean or a fresh water pond at the Long Point Wildlife Refuge which is owned by the Trustees of Reservations. You can purchase passes or memberships to use this beautiful beach. In addition, as a renter of West Tisbury, visitors are eligible to purchase beach passes from the town offices for beautiful Lambert's Cove on the Martha's Vineyard Sound.
Four bedrooms (2 new queen mattresses, 1 full, 2 twin beds). The house is air-conditioned and there are ceiling fans in all 4 bedrooms. The kitchen was renovated in 2018 and the dining room seats 8 people. The kitchen appliances include a refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee machine. There are two full baths and 1 outdoor shower. The house has many amenities. There is a 46' HD flat screen TV, Cable, strong WiFi access, Bose stereo. There are towels and sheets available for use while renting but they must be washed and dried before leaving. Another option is to bring your own towels and sheets or rent them on the island. Some companies drop off and pick up. Beach towels are usually available. There is a washer and dryer in the finished basement. There is a large deck in back facing southward and a balcony upstairs on the north side. A gas grill and outdoor furniture are on the deck. Our new bluestone patio can be enjoyed for lounging, sunbathing, and enjoying the company and conversations of your family and friends.
Beach chairs are available for the beach.
Fullers Housecleaning Company who have cleaned our home for over 20 years have updated their cleaning procedures. They are currently using industry standard best practice procedures as there are no longer any local or state mandates relating to Covid-19. The home is cleaned before and after your arrival. The garbage is collected once a week. These expenses are included in the rental price.

Summary: We had a lovely stay in this very well-appointed home. We loved the location because of its privacy, but its proximity to the bike path and Long Point Wildlife Refuge made it easy for our family and extra special. We did a lot of cooking and loved the kitchen and grill Lots of games around the kitchen table and mornings on the deck. All in all, it was a perfect trip. The DeWitts were so easy to correspond with and helpful whenever we had questions.

Summary: We had a lovely time in west Tisbury. The house was perfect for our group; four adults and our two adult “kids”. The kitchen was well-stocked, the deck was great for hanging out morning and evening, the beds were comfortable. All the amenities of home (including AC which was really nice during this very humid week!) and a fantastic location, wooded and private but central to all parts of the island. Loved our stay on the vineyard!!!

Summary: Overall our stay was great and I would stay again. What was great: 1. Communication with the host was great and they were attentive and quick to respond. 2. The hosts helped by providing information on beach reservations and permits for Long Point and Lambert’s Cove. 3. Lambert’s Cove is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to and is a huge selling point to staying at this location. The host assisted with a rental agreement that I could provide to purchase the $50 pass. 4. The location is fantastic! In the middle of the island, on a great street for walking, biking, and playing. Surrounded by large trees and very close to Long Point Beach. 5. The kitchen is fantastic! Huge and well equipped! 6. The outdoor deck with propane grill was lovely when we had good weather. 7. The layout of the house is great. 2 bedrooms upstairs with a full bath and 2 bedrooms downstairs with a full bath. It was the perfect setup for two families of 4 traveling together 8. The house had one large tv in the living room and was equipped with Netflix. Great for little kids. What could have been better: 1. Laundry at the end of the stay. On the day last we got up at 6am and started the laundry and it was a lot of work and very stressful. This took a lot of time. If I stay again I will bring my own sheets to avoid this. 2. I stayed in the upstairs queen bedroom and unfortunately it was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. There was an extra mattress in the house and by day 3 I had to move it upstairs to be able to sleep. 3. The bedrooms upstairs have big beautiful skylights but that means at 5:30am when the sunrises so do you. Window coverings or an eye mask would have been nice. 4. The house is all wooden floors which is great for cleaning but not for nice noise cancelling. A few runners or area rugs might help with the noise. I would recommend this property to others as it is a good location with a fantastic kitchen and setup. However it is not a luxury property and I think that is reflected in the listing and the price. The hosts were great!

Summary: The home is on a lovely, private lot and has a nice deck overlooking pretty woods. The kitchen and family room have recently been redone and we enjoyed the open concept for cooking and hanging out as a family. Bathrooms are in line with what you’d expect for a cape rental but what was great was having one full bath on the main floor and one upstairs - our two teens enjoyed having their own space upstairs. The location of this home is great - far enough from the busiest parts of the island but close enough to easily get in and out. There’s a beautiful beach very close to the home - be sure to get advanced registration. We hadn't stayed in West Tisbury before but definitely will again. The owners are very communicative and helpful. They were great to deal with. Thanks for a great stay Valerie and John!
