This villa was off the holiday let market for a while being let long-term and is now back as a holiday let. Situated at the top of the quiet, residential village of Ilgaz perched on the slopes of the Besparmak mountains, the villa is built on one level and is surrounded by terraces and mature gardens. It has an 8 x 4m overflow pool with spectacular views across a ravine looking down the mountains to the sea. The villa is secluded and peaceful with a large open living area, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and large well-equipped kitchen. High vaulted ceilings ensure the villa is cool in summer. The covered terraces provide some shade during high summer allowing you to choose whether to sit in shade or sun at all times of the day. The villa is at the top of the village. The pool terrace of the villa cannot be seen by others. Only one house is above it which is ours and there are trees and bushes separating the two villas. The villa is very peaceful and provides spacious, light and cool living areas.

Summary: We stayed for 10 days beginning of October 2019 We are not in the first flush of youth and therefore have a fairly good experience of travelling and are reasonably hard to impress. I can honestly say that Carola is one of the kindest nicest most helpful owner we have met to date. Nothing was too much trouble and she really went the extra mile with the welcome pack and provisions that were in the villa. The villa itself is in a quiet small village up in the hills with views of the coast and with the mountains behind. Simply beautiful. However you have to be prepared to drive to get anywhere and if you like walking definately take the walk from Ilgas to Karaman - its spectacular. The villa was spacious and very well equipped with a lovely pool and complete seclusion. I cannot recommend it highly enough if you want seclusion, peace and quiet and a wonderful holiday. Having said that the main town of Kyrenia is only a 15 minute drive. Our thanks to Carola we had a wonderful time.

Summary: Our 6 day late August stay (myself, my wife and teenage daughter) at Top House proved to be one of our most enjoyable, relaxing and tranquil holidays to date. A real find. Situated in the mountain village of Ilgaz, Top House offers superb views down to the coast and sea, and, with mountain and trees as surrounding back drop, has the added attraction of not being overlooked. All in all, a private oasis of sunshine and tranquillity. The villa itself is spacious, excellently maintained, comfortable and welcoming. Well-appointed kitchen, large lounge and two bedrooms (one en suite and both with AC). Wi-Fi, lots of books and local info, TV and Bose sound system all to hand. The 8-metre swimming pool, again excellently maintained, was a delight, as were the loungers and big fluffy beach towels! The long, shaded veranda proved a great place for breakfast and long, lazy lunches or for simply gazing at the view. Carola, the owner, provided detailed info prior to our trip, a welcome pack on arrival (including a bottle of her own wine), arranged taxi transfers from Larnaca airport and local car hire (though local taxis are reasonably cheap, a car is essential if, like ourselves, you want to explore further afield). In short, thank you Carola for being such a perfect host.

Summary: Lovely clean and spacious villa with great pool and terrace. Sun all day long but with shady spots to retreat to and a lovely spot on the terrace for eating and drinking while watching the sun set over the valley. Lovely comfortable beds and great facilities all round. We were within walking distance of the village ‘eateries ‘ ranging from good to gourmet. The pool is really well positioned, a great size, really well maintained and not overlooked. Lots of wee ‘extras’ that made the stay even better - poolside/beach towels, yoga mat, mosquito repellants (spray and plug in). Local supermarkets just a short drive down hill from the village and same road to head out on day trips pretty much anywhere. We had a few trips out covering most of northern Cyprus. Would highly recommend. Carola and Oz are lovely hosts - even organising our transfers from Larnaca and our hire car. Transfer each way was seamless and comfortable.

Summary: We really enjoyed our week in Top House which is a beautiful well equipped villa with lovely views. Everything was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Always lovely to get back to the peace and quiet of Top House after a day of sight seeing. We liked Escape beach which is 10 minutes away by car and good restaurants near by. Carola and Oz couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you!

Summary: 'Top House', is a lovely traditional villa with beautiful views. The villa has everything you need; spacious clean rooms, well equipped kitchen, wifi and a private pool. The owners could not be more helpful, from the initial booking to the end of our holiday; arranging taxi’s to/from the airport and car hire, providing a generous welcome pack, advice on trips and local amenities, providing a great information pack (the recommended restaurants are really worth a visit), regular pool cleaning and much more. I would highly recommend Top House, I know we will be returning. Thank you to Carola and Oz for a relaxing family holiday.

Summary: A short visit to an amazing property. The house is set in the mountains in Ilgaz and has lovely traditional interiors and the most amazing outside space. Gorgeous terraces for sun or shade and mountain views. All on one level the villa has a great kitchen in traditional wood style and loads of space. The master bedroom was my favourite room with doors onto the pool and terrace area. A canopy over the four poster bed added to the loveliness of this room. Tons of wardrobe and storage space for clothes etc. We have stayed in a few of Carola and Oz’s properties and over ten years they have become good friends. They are always helpful when we stay and this property like all of theirs is well maintained and lovely and clean. The villa is literally on the mountain side with amazing walks on your doorstep. The newly opened winery in the village was the reason for our visit and that is also a great place to enjoy a glass or two. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this property and have told loads of friends about the villas. We can’t wait to go back for a longer stay.

Summary: From beginning to end we enjoyed a fabulous experience. The extremely helpful owners, Oz and Carolla, assisted us with transfers, car hire and valuable, local knowledge. On arrival there was a welcome pack which included wine and various food items which was gratefully received. The villa was larger than expected and spotlessly clean, with a lovely pool and bespoke outside seating. The local people were very welcoming and fresh bread from the local cafe, only 2 minutes walk from the villa, is not to be missed! Overall our holiday to llgas exceeded our expectations in every way and we look forward to returning as soon as possible.
