2 Bedroom Villa in Asnelles

La Galiote and its large garden are located right in front of the sea, on the site where William the Conqueror landed in the eleventh century, and where the British allies landed on 6 June 1944. The house faces the remnants of the Mulberry B artificial harbour (Gold Beach).
HOUSE: About 95 m2 on the ground floor (three steps up). Double glazing, thermal and sound insulation. Electric heating and fireplace. WiFi. Maximum 5 people plus 1 baby.
ROOMS: Living room 26 m2 with fireplace, Veranda 30 m2 facing the sea (solar heating), Laundry room / back-from-beach room (hot shower), Bedroom 10 m2, small Bedroom 4.5 m2, Bathroom (shower / mini-bathtub, washbasin, bidet), Toilet, Closet, fully equipped Kitchen (laundry washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, four hotplates etc.).
SLEEPING: 1 bed 2 people 160 x 200 cm (bedroom); 1 sofa bed 2 people 160 x 200 cm (in a corner of the living room); 1 bed 1 person 90 × 190 cm (small bedroom); 1 extra folding bed 80 × 190 cm (living or laundry room or veranda; 1 baby cot 50 x 100 cm. Bed and house linen are provided. The two main mattresses are equipped with anti-dust mites full barriers. The beds (except folding beds) will be made and unmade for you.
Caution! When you leave, you must return the villa in the same state of cleanliness and tidiness as you found it when you arrived. However, you have the option to request at the time of your arrival that the house be cleaned after your departure (extra cost 70€ to be remitted to the person-in-charge).
The entire ground floor is available to rent, approximately 95 m2 including 30 m2 of veranda. The veranda is heated by the sun, so generally cold in Winter. The first floor is unoccupied and inaccessible.
The whole garden of 935 m2 is available except the garage. For safety, no barbecue because the neighbour lives in a thatched cottage. However, it is possible to cook in the fireplace. Wood and a grid are provided.
Arrival between 4 and 7 pm. Contact us for late arrivals.
An appointment between 8 and 11 am on the premises will be arranged for your departure. During the rental period, contact us in case of technical difficulty or malfunction, after having tried to solve it with the 'Instructions' booklet located in the kitchen.
LOCATION: by the sea; Sea views; Beach of the Mulberry B artificial harbour of 1944. Separated from the beach by a one-way street, a bike path and a wide pedestrian promenade. Beach access by stairs in front of the house, boat access 200 m to the left or 300 m to the right.
Restaurants and some shops within 300 m. Grocery and gas pump at 800 m.
Tourist office (Summer), Sailing school, Diving, Bowling, Tennis, Basketball, Children's games at 400-500 m.
TRAVEL:
Car: from Bayeux, follow Sommervieu, Ryes, St-Come, Asnelles.
Stop "Asnelles centre" of the 'Nomad' bus (line 74 or 174) at 200 m.
Train: Bayeux train station 13 km away, then taxi or bus.
Plane: airport Caen Carpiquet 26 km away, then taxi or bus.
Boat: harbour of Ouistreham 28 km away, then taxi.
OTHER:

Summary: We enjoyed our stay very much and the views from the property on Gold Beach are both stunning and sobering at the same time. Others have noted the layout of the floor plan is a bit quirky but it is perfectly manageable and nothing could beat the location. I recommend staying here.

Summary: We stayed a week in La Galiote and wished we could have stayed longer, we had a fantastic week visiting the beaches and museums in the area and enjoyed many walks to Arromanche just along the coast. We had great communication throughout the process and we met the host on arrival who helped us understand the property and the surroundings, the house was very clean and well maintained and the beds all made up and basic supplies to get us going were provided, there is a village shop, bakery and a couple of bars and restaurants within 200 yds of the house and everything needed could be found without needing to travel, the kids particularly enjoyed the beach bar where they could get crepes and candy floss while playing on the beach. In short we would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone looking to stay in this area steeped in history or just for a great beach holiday...... We will miss those beautiful sunsets every evening.

Summary: really nice property with in super location ideal for both ww2 enthusiasts or those that want total peace and quiet, TV .video, Wi-Fi , radio table tennis ,fabulous views want more can you say except roll on next year

Summary: The house is querky in so much as layout, but we loved it. Beds were comfortable and the view is amazing of course. We loved the big conservatory and table tennis table. A great trip, thank you

Summary: Looks great from the outside but the inside lets it down a little Great location, great outside areas, great views. The conservatory is great but had a few water leaks while we were there, it rained quite often
