Positive: We loved the size of the room. There was plenty of space for two adults and three younger children. The beach was good, with soft sand and plenty of room to play. The kids liked the 3 slides into the pools. We did the breakfast-included plan and the breakfasts were good.
Negative: The location wasn't bad but it was a little further from the malecon than we liked. But there were lots of good restaurants near the hotel.

Positive: First time in MZT and the Luna Palace. We got a better room than we had booked and it was on the 3rd floor with a great view off the bedroom balcony to the ocean, two queen beds and a separate living area with couch, Smart TV, table to eat at and a well equipped kitchen. AC worked adequately but was noisy so we ran to cool down at night then shut off for sleeping. The hotel is at the north end of the Golden Zone and is a very quiet area at night so we had great sleeps. Always hot water for morning showers and all the plumbing was fairly new and up to north american standards. We did all inclusive and it was fine. Breakfasts were hearty with an egg station for easy over, huevos ranchero or omelets, plus the side dishes of mexican dishes and tons of fresh fruit. Lunch and supper were an a la carte menu which got repetitive, however one could walk a few blocks down the street to the other Palace Hotels (Pacific, Oceano or Star) and partake in their buffet and restaurants as part of the all inclusive. So lots of good meals were had. The staff in all their hotels are first rate, so helpful and full of energy and humour. The pool was heated a bit and nice to relax in. The beach for miles out front was lovely sand and great for long walks. As noted by some reviewers, the entertainment was limited but that suited us as we wanted peace and quiet. There were lots of fellow Canucks of similar age, so good stories to share. The bar was well stocked with a decent selection, with the Tequila Sunrise and Bacardi Black being our favorites.
Negative: As noted the AC was very noisy, but did work okay. The Smart TV had a million channels, but we could only find 4 that had English, so difficult to watch any movies or find news.

Positive: We enjoyed the comfortable beds and room facilities. All rooms have a nice view. Staff were kind.
Negative: Hot water was dependent on time of day. Only other feedback was that pigeons nest outside on balcony ledges and as a result, eggs are hatched. They should really break up the nests as soon as they appear. The pigeon droppings are smelly and can cause issues. Also, we watered plants on balcony and they flowered in one week. Hotel should do this as most we dead.
Summary: Great stay, nice property. Location is perfect for restaurants so all inclusive not advised.

Positive: Love the location and the resort. We have stayed here many times and keep coming back. We love the area because it is more quiet than the Golden Zone/Malecon area.
Negative: There seems to be a significant difference in staffing the outdoor bar and pool area. We often had to seek out staff to order drinks and food. We eventually just started bringing our own drinks and food because we weren't being waited on.
Summary: Great time, would have been nice to have more staff at the pool.

Positive: The staff was always friendly and helpful, they even remembered us from a previous stay! The pool is heated and very clean, they do a great job keeping the pool area, chairs etc clean. The location doesn’t get any better than this!
Negative: Our room would occasionally get a sewer gas type smell.
Summary: Have stayed before and will definitely stay again!
