A beautiful, private farmhouse on the Shenandoah River. This is a great place for the outdoor enthusiast with beautiful views the George Washington National Forest. This location is perfect for hiking, kayaking, fishing with a public boat ramp near by. Multiple bedrooms and lots of beds a. Huge master bedroom with riverfront view, large bathrooms, dressers, a large living/sitting area, TV, large full kitchen, pantry and laundry room. Enjoy beakfast on us your first morning! WE NOW HAVE AC!

The space
The exterior has security cameras.
The bottom floor has a full kitchen, coffee bar, dining room, living room, TV, internet, leather sofa and recliner, large bathroom, large master bedroom with King bed and a pull out futon. There are fireplaces but they are not available to be used.
There is a lot of room in this house. Please tell us how many people you have, so that bed can be made appropriately.
There is a master bedroom downstairs, a futon, a sofa and a recliner.
Upstairs there is a king a 2 queens and a double , 2 twins, a toddler bed and 6 futons and a full Bathroom.

Guests will have acess to the home as well as all outdoor areas. Please make sure to understand, there are lots of sharing space in this house. We set bedding for amount of people. Not individual bedrooms.

Summary: We rented the house for a small family gathering and cookout on my brother’s 60th birthday. It worked very well, and everyone had a great time. Very nice location on the river. Just be aware that’s it’s next to a pasture on the river, so there are lots of bugs. Don’t leave the doors open. Still a great spot though.It just happened that there was a classic car show at “Cooters” up the road the weekend we were there. A little extra traffic, but lots of fun.

Summary: We live in Cumberland, MD and had family coming up from Florida. My niece was getting married in Luray. We found this house that was perfect for our large family and only 20 minutes away from the wedding site. Loved the charm and the closeness of the river. And it was great to all be together to spend time with the Florida family too.

Summary: Invited family from out of state to surprise my husband for his 70th birthday. Location allowed everyone to spread out as needed. The dining setting is perfect for large groups. Great time had by all.

Summary: The house was definitely rural. The river flowing by was very peaceful. The big yard is a great place for kids to toss a ball. The best time to stay would be late spring, summer, early fall.

Summary: We rented this property primarily to accommodate some family and friends attending our small wedding in Luray because it has several bedrooms. One thing to note is that the host charges $50 extra per night per person, which is not disclosed on the listing. So if you are looking to add additional people beyond your reservation, keep that in mind. The house is definitely laid out for a farm family and would be easier with a family group rather than a mixed one. It has 5 bedrooms on the second floor, which are connected to each other and share the same bathroom. One set of bedrooms (queen and double) don't have a door between them and the other set (king, queen, and twins) have only one door to the main hallway and means that anyone staying in the queen or twins has to come through the king to use the bathroom in the hall. Overall, the quality of the house is adequate and the first floor is more spaciously laid out. Lastly, there is a lovely view of the river but remember, it's Virginia so deer ticks are a thing.

Summary: Great old farmhouse in the country with lots of charm! Beautiful views of the mountains and fall foliage. Lots of space to spread out and great for just being outside. Far enough away from the city but still close to shopping and other activities. Would definitely go back!

Summary: This house is the best! Clean! Very Clean. We stayed here 2 nights we kayaked and floated the river every day. It’s very convenient area for a nice float. Some of us fished. Fishing was great! 7 of us stayed in the house. We were very comfortable. Some rooms you have to walk through to get to others. We loved it! We took our side by sides so we could pull our kayaks back to the house. The house has a kitchen fully equipped, and supply’s coffee. We had eggs and bacon in the fridge as well. There is also a gas grill! Check in and out was great! As always we leave a house like we found it! We will be back for a longer stay next time!
