Summary: This property exceeded our expectations. A big plus was meeting the owner as we arrived. He took the time to give us an overview and history of the home, and gave us tips on the area. Although the house is across the road to the patio area by the Delaware, it was easily accessible and well appointed. Nice cushioned seating and table allow us to enjoy the views. The canal trail is nearby and cute towns are all a short distance away. The house is comfortable and nicely decorated too. Would definitely stay there again.

Summary: The house is incredible. It has all of charm of going back 200 years except the brand new appliances and bathrooms. There is also a great outdoor sitting area on the banks of the Delaware River. Our family had a great time.

Summary: I booked the house for a short getaway with my wife to celebrate a milestone birthday. The house is old, but wonderfully kept, with original interior door hardware (turn of the century lever style latches) and large wood board floors. Some of the floor boards are loose, but I think that's to be expected for an old house. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern, as is the plumbing, and therein lies the problem. The hot water heater is a modern tankless unit and should deliver endless hot water. The problem is the settings are wrong for the house. The bathroom faucets do not provide hot water even when the hot water is on at full position. The water only heats up if I ran the hot water in the shower along with the faucet. The water temperature is also very low -- so low that I was not comfortable in the shower with only the hot water turned on. I informed the host of the issue early in the morning after the first night. While the text communications was on-going throughout the day, I returned to the house with same issue that afternoon with no promise of a fix. I took off 2 stars in the overall rating because I do believe availability to hot water should not be optional at a vacation home. Luckily, I only booked the house for two nights, so I was able to have a hot shower when I got home. I took off a star for check-in process because the front door access code was late -- not "within 24-48 hours before check-in" and I had to ask for it, which caused me a bit on anxiety at the start of the trip. I also took off a star for cleanliness of property as I found 4 stink bugs in the main bedroom and a tube of silicone glue on one of the beds. The bugs might be due to the location of the house, but I would not have minded if they did not find their way into the house. Both of these last two points are minor compared to the lack of hot water and would not have resulted in a lost star in the overall rating of the house.
