Positive: The location was amazing. Great for sightseeing and spending nice days/evenings on the terrace. Especially, with sunny weather. The house had everything we needed and was lovely - only possibilities to store/hang clothes were missing a bit. The landlord was super friendly and helpful - like all the Norwegians we have met there. He booked a parking slot for our arrival and always asked if something was missing or needed. Best landlord ever.

Positive: Fantastic location on side of fjord. Very modern and comfortable interior. Lovely outside seating although we only used it one day due to the weather. Good area to explore. Arendal is only a few minutes away by car and has lots of shops and restaurants. We also used the historic passenger ferry which only takes 6 minutes and runs all day late into the evening but is a pleasant 30 minute walk from the boat house. The host, Arild met us on arrival to show us where to park and show us the property.
Negative: The inside dining area has a great view but is in an adjacent building and has no lighting other than candles so is not good for evening dining. There was no dining table in the house itself. Being right by the waterside is great but it means steep steps up to the road so we would not recommend it if you have mobility issues. The narrow road is busy and parking is limited near the property. We always managed to find a space but not necessarily very near to the property. At the house was very quiet with no noise from the road but there was a fridge in the main bedroom that was a bit noisy at night. ( this was not the fridge for use by visitors - that was in the kitchen. It was used by the owner). In the main bedroom there were no bedside tables or lights ( but there was in the upstairs room) there was no where to put or hang clothing in the main bedroom the drawers had the owner’s thing in. The bathroom cabinet still had the owner’s family’s toiletries in it. For future rentals it would be better if the owner’s personal items were removed from the property. These comments are intended to be helpful rather than critical as it is a beautiful and comfortable house and we enjoyed our stay.
