The chalet is situated above Grindelwald with stunning views over the valley and the surrounding mountains, all being part of the UNESCO World heritage site: Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. The chalet, achieved end of 2014, has been furnished and decorated with care to enable you with your friends or family to spend an unforgettable vacation in a luxurious but cosy place. The ski slopes are 800 m from the house and can be reached on skis by most skiers.
The chalet was realized with noble materials, wood and natural stone, in order to emphasize the authenticity and this warm atmosphere so particular to the alpine houses. The furniture and decoration were chosen with the concern of creating a balance between the contemporary design favoring the comfort as well as the aesthetic and the traditional objects in order to honor the cultural heritage specific to the region.
The main house is spread over 3 floors and includes an entrance hall with plenty of storage space, a living room with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a back kitchen, a TV room and a guest toilet.
On the first floor are three bedrooms accessing the large balcony with their bathrooms. In the attic, accessed by a retractable staircase, there is a room for children with a superb view on the village.
The chalet is connected by an outside corridor to a former sheep-fold which was totally renovated at the end of 2016. Here is the sauna, with its breathtaking view of the valley, a bathroom as well as an additional sleeping room with a wood stove.
The whole can accommodate 8 people and 2 children.

Summary: Our family of six adults and four young children (1-4 years), on vacation to visit family and to explore the countryside in Switzerland, were absolutely delighted with the rental of this gorgeous home. Imagine waking up each morning to spectacular views of Grindelwald village and the nearby breath-taking alps, accompanied by the sound of bells from cows grazing in the neighbor's field. You won't want to leave at the end of your stay! This home is beautifully designed to take advantage of the stunning hilltop scenery. It has all the comforts of home. The ground floor includes a living room with attractive seating, a large dining room table/chairs, a very modern kitchen with everything you will need to entertain, and a well-equipped laundry room. Upstairs on the first floor are gorgeous bedrooms and bathrooms with balconies. We also utilized an additional lovely bedroom/bath with sauna connected by a short corridor from the main house. We took advantage of an outdoor grill (complete with charcoal briquettes/starter/matches) and enjoyed a meal of fondue/ rösti/wurst outdoors on the picnic table/chairs. The owner of the home was very welcoming and professional, promptly answered all of our questions prior to our arrival, and went the extra mile to provide two portable cribs for our youngest grandchildren and a darling outdoor children's picnic table. Not all of our family was able to join us on this vacation. We plan to return to this home in the near future, if it is available, to continue our exploration of the hiking trails and the multitude of activities in this perfect location in the Bernese Oberland.

Summary: Reception of Francoise is excellent! The place is super clean and the service provided was superb - we experienced losing internet connection at 8am and the issue was rectified in just a couple of minutes. The view from the house is also magnificent. I surely recommend the place to anyone and I'm definite that we will visit it again.

Summary: A beautiful home above Grindelwald with spectacular views on all sides of the property. Cows being driven to pasture each evening adds an extra charm! Wonderful host - everything you could want is in the house - I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this beautiful town.

Summary: We are an extended family of 11, three generations including young kids aged 5 to 11. We stayed in this chalet for one week, during our ski trip in February 2018. The booking with Francoise was very smooth, and she responded to all our enquiries promptly, giving advice to us on what to expect especially the drive in snowy condition. On arrival, we were welcomed by the warm host, who showed us the house to every details. What’s more, she lent a helping hand when one of our cars got lost. Greatly appreciated. Our stay was extremely pleasant. The house is spacious, the decor is warm and cozy, it is very much what we expect to be the Swiss style of living. All photos shown are not only close to the reality but better! The furniture is new and beddings are clean. We understand that minimum lighting and the dark ambient in living area and bed rooms was intentional (so that we can enjoy the night views to Grinderwald town), but we sometimes find it inconvenient to do other chores like play cards, or pack our luggage. The fully equipped kitchen is the most complimented by the women in the family. An oven, a streamer-oven, a electric stove, coffee machine, dish washer, and many many pans and pots, utensils and cutlery, herbs and seasonings to choose from. There is even a fondue set for us to use! Just some minor complaints from them that there is no microwave (to sterilize milk bottles) and the freezer is too small, yet they still rank it the best kitchen ever! Also over and above our expectations are the separate storage room for skis and ski boots, the huge laundry, the heated towel racks. Built by the hillside, the outdoor area is on a slope. Kids found endless joy using it as a slide! They were also excited to see an unexpected visitor - fox! The drive to the house was challenging for the first time as GPS showed us a shortcut which is actually quite dangerous. So do ask Fransciose for driving instructions beforehand. While it takes around 20 minutes to drive to the ski spots, we have no trouble finding carparking there. The supermarket and garbage disposal point are also along the way. Highly recommended for families or a few couples who are looking for a quiet getaway, with stunning views!
