Escape to one of the most beautiful destinations in Nelson County Virginia. Southern Comfort Lakeside Cabin Resort is situated on 200 beautiful acres. Our cabins overlook our private lake. The hand hewn logs give the warmth you would expect from a log home we've added modern amenities to make your stay with us memorable. We offer central air, flat screen smart televisions with Hulu, WIFI. The Kitchens are fully equipped with full size stainless appliances including microwave and dishwasher. and all the basics for cooking. The beautiful soapstone counter tops make these kitchens spectacular! We truly want our guests to have an enjoyable experience so no ordinary bathroom would do. Soapstone vanities with vessel sinks an amazing custom tile shower. You choose standard, rainfall, hand held shower heads and multiple body jets use one or all of them at the same time. The cabins all have gas fireplaces and comfortable furnishings. Lets not forget the most important room the bedrooms. Down stairs bedroom has a Queen size bed , upstairs has two queen beds. We have memory foam mattress, soft sheets and blankets so our guest enjoy an incredible night's sleep.
Whether you're swimming, fishing or kayaking on our private lake; enjoying the views from your porch; walking on our groomed trails; sitting down in the brook cooling your feet, nature abounds!

We are within 30 minutes from Charlottesville, University of Virginia and Monticello the home of Thomas Jefferson.

Summary: This is a very lovely cabin in a gorgeous setting. It’s extremely clean, and has everything needed for a small group. Very well located too, with lots of hiking, wineries, and other attractions within an easy drive.

Summary: The cabins are lovely with a nice ambience. Everything was carefully and thoughtfully done, I thought, from the amenities available in the cabin, the beds, the kitchen. The property isn't flashy, but it's quiet, peaceful, not touristy, full of small wonders and pleasures like the creek, the trails, the canoeing and swimming in the lake. The area has lots of explore with beautiful scenic views, waterfalls, trails. There's enough 'civilization' in terms of stores and restaurants, but it's not developed which was very nice.

Summary: The cabin and the property afforded a beautiful, relaxing place to hike, kayak or canoe, fish and swim without leaving the property. The bed was perfect. There is a spa shower that is is a very nice touch. Although there was a second bedroom upstairs, we did not use it. It is open to the downstairs sitting area and kitchen for those who are interested in the layout. Our bedroom was very private tho. Both areas had a TV with a Roku. Our phones barely had a signal here so it was necessary to get on the cabin's internet system. The cabin is spotless but that also means that there are no spices or extras in the cabinets. There is a convenient grocery store just down the road. The cabin looks like it was designed by an architect; it is beautiful and everything seems very well thought out. The lake had fish for my husband to catch and release. He caught one 4 pound bass and many smaller fish. The water was lovely for swimming.

Summary: The property is very tranquil; the cabins very clean and spacious. The kids (and us) had a great time fishing and boating in the lake. Walking the trails was also very enjoyable. A very special place!

Summary: Our family of four decided to get away for Thanksgiving and we are so happy we chose this cabin to stay in! What a beautiful and relaxing place! We enjoyed everything! The cabin is perfect and very clean! The shower was amazing! We walked on the trails, enjoyed the paddle boat, kayaks, and just enjoyed sitting at the waters edge. We enjoyed campfires at night too. The host Lisa, was very accommodating and we enjoyed meeting her and her son. We will definitely be back again!

Summary: We stayed at Homestead Cabin at the Southern Comfort Lakeside Cabin Resort for 4 days. My husband loves log cabins, and I was drawn to this one because it had modern amenities in the kitchen and bathroom. The site and amenities were exactly as we expected. Everything is just as pictured. Duane came over and greeted us on our second day and was especially helpful during our stay. The cabin was clean and well stocked with starter amenities of towels, soap, dish washing detergent, and trash bags. Hamilton Lake is a perfect setting for relaxing and we especially enjoyed sitting in the chairs overlooking the lake. The site also included several walking trails and a fire pit for our use. The log cabin is a great central location for exploring local breweries, wineries, distilleries, and farm to table restaurants on the Brew Ridge Trail. There was a binder in the cabin with recommended activities in the area. We were able to enjoy a beer flight and music at Devil's Backbone Brewery, enjoy farm to table food at Wood Ridge Farm Brewery, try bourbon infused with the smoke from real wood at Silverback Distillery, celebrate the 10th anniversary at Blue Mountain Brewery, and people watch while playing dominoes at the Beverly Cigar Store in Staunton. Relaxing every morning and evening at Homestead Log Cabin was the icing on the cake!
