Summary: Lovely house, lovely garden, lovely everything. And we have rented houses in the vicinity of Cannes for the last 25 years so I know what I'm talking about. Also it was really easy to get in touch with the the caretaker and the owners which we appreciated vy much.

Summary: We had a great holiday using this villa as our base. It is large and spacious with a huge pool and nice sized garden. The games room is a great feature and we used the table tennis table a lot. We encountered a few minor problems and believe there are some easy steps the owners could make to really improve this (already pretty nice) villa. We stayed for two weeks and weren't given any spare bedding or blankets. Yes it was hot but with the aircon the kids often went to bed shivering and had to wear a fleece jumper and socks etc even when the aircon was turned off before bed. We asked for a couple of simple blankets but were told this wasn't possible. Also we didn't have a single spare sheet in case we needed to change sheets in the night (we had a 4 year old with us). We were told we could only have spare bedding for a cost which surprised me as everywhere else we have stayed keeps spare in the closets. We only had about 3 decent wine glasses for a house for 10 people. This was rectified early on though. We also asked for some plastic plates and glasses to be provided to use by the pool. In general the kitchen equipment was very old and hard to find basic things. The dishwasher didn't work very well so when we arrived some of the bowls that had been put away by previous guests were dirty. There was a hairdryer which my mum used but it barely worked and smoke came out of it. This was replaced but took 3 days to arrive. The pool had a green tint to it and stained our swimwear and inflatbles a little. A pool man needed to come every 3 days to treat the pool. There was no basic info on things to do, restaurants etc. The only info in the folder was on locals markets. When I spoke to the owners they told me some great tips over the phone bit having this written down in the folder would have been great. The aircon in one of the bedrooms was broken the whole time. Someone eventually came to have a look at it but it was never fixed during our stay (the only date offered was the day before we left). There's nothing much to do in the town itself but a couple of restaurants where you can also pick up takeaway. The villa is in a residential area but it was 15 mins drive to Cannes where we went to the beach often. We did enjoy the villa but compared to other placed we have stayed it didn't live up to the expectations we had upon booing it.

Summary: We (6 adults and 4 kids) arrived at the villa Carpe Diem and Elisabeth gave us a friendly welcome tour of the house, pool, gameroom and garden. The villa is perfectly situated in a quiet neighborhood, a 5 minute drive away from the A8- perfect to visit St. Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Eze, Grasse, Gourdon, St.-Paul-de -Vence and the Esterel. Beaches are a 15 Min. drive away. We found helpful information in the folders that Ian and Nicola prepared for guest. Supermarkets for Groceries etc., a bakery for fresh baguette and pastry are all closeby. There is a local vegetable and fruit farmer (Orso) where you can buy farmfresh organic food. At the villa we got enough towels for all of us, plenty of sports equipment and possibilities to spend a fun and relaxing holiday. Our kids loved to spend time in the pool (bring mosquito spray!!!) and after having been in the sun the whole day, they enjoyed themselves playing billard, table tennis or using the playstation 3 for gaming. The kitchen was well equiped and all the appliances were working fine. Thanks for a wonderful vacation- we loved it!

Summary: We enjoyed our stay very much and it was difficult to leave. Especially the pool is fantastic. Not too many chemicals and in the sun all day so warmed up. The house is spacious and the games room is a real bonus. Communication with owners easy as well as with the lady taking care of the handovers. Bakery, tabac, pharmacy, doctor and 2 restaurants within walking distance. Supermarket 5min away. No matter how much I love a pizza oven and BBQ on coals would suggest an electric or gas one as the environment is too dry for risking coal fire.

Summary: Villa had everything we needed for a relaxing week's stay (5 adults plus 2 small children 2 and 5 yrs old). Kids spent most of the time in the pool or playing in the garden, and there is plenty of shaded space outside under the awnings and large trees. Outside kitchen with BBQ was great, as was outside terrace for eating in morning and evenings with a lovely view over the hills. Inside the villa is not quite "luxurious" (maybe just needs a bit of an update), but it was perfect for us as a base and I think the standard is reflected in the price which was good value. Adding aircon to the kitchen/lounge/dining area would be useful given how hot it gets in the afternoon, and the only respite is the pool or a bedroom. Still, it's the South of France so that's to be expected. Immediate town is not that big but had a great boulangerie in walking distance for breakfast pastries and supermarkets for everything else. We knew nearby towns from previous trips so went to Mougins for dinner or Cannes for beach/day trip (sadly no local bar we could find in walking distance for a quick evening biere pression). Both around 20-25 mins by car. Local gorge/waterfall near Grasse was fun, about 1hr drive, as was kids splashpark near Antibes. Local property manager Elisabeth was very friendly and helpful, though we really didn't need to ask many questions. The pool was cleaned midway through the week and the maintenance guys were likewise helpful. All in all, lovely week, just what we were after.

Summary: We stayed in the villa with our family. Everything was Ok.The property was clean en well maintained. We got many towels .And in the kitchen everything was good, even sharp knives .The property had plenty room outside to sit and enjoy the sun whole day with a lot of privacy. Although it was late in the season the swimmingpool was cleaned so we could use it.It was very chilly but nice to cool off.Close to the villa there is a busstop ,the bus brings you to the center of Cannes. I would strongly recommend this villa to other guest .5 bedrooms in the surroundings of Cannes for a fair price. Vera and Peter

Summary: We took our family to this property to celebrate my birthday. It was excellent for our needs. We took children ranging from 2 to 16, but they were all busy with the games and swimming pool. Nicolina was very helpful and kind to us while we were there and helped to make our week very enjoyable. xx

Summary: Upon arrival we were met (not welcomed) by Antonio who speaks very little English. His primary role would appear to be to intimidate new guests as to the financial penalties associated with excessive electricity use. Antonio comes armed with a piece of paper containing a meter reading written in pencil. We had no way of verifying the content or monitoring our usage and therefore spent the holiday concerned about the potential impact this may have on the return of our sizeable deposit. Antonio's English did stretch to announcing that all young people liked to steal ( he looked meaningfully at the younger members of the party) and stressed he would be counting all the bed side lamps on check out (which, for some reason, he felt would prove irresistible to the 18-22 year old contingent in our group). Unfortunately, Antonio's communication skills do not allow him to explain anything useful and so, for example, we never got to use the pizza oven or BBQ. The villa is basically sound but the owners cost cutting really takes the shine off it. The property sleeps 10 people but they provide 5 sun loungers which is ridiculous. Our party of 9 was forced to operate a rota system! Each guest is given an empty duvet cover,1 pillow and a towel. No additional bedding (presumably to discourage use of the air-con). It took us 2 days to get towels for the pool and they were only forthcoming after we had promised that we would not take them to the beach! There are no cushions on the outdoor seats around the table making evenings uncomfortable and no seating at all in the games room. Guests are required to use plastic tumblers by the pool but there isn't insufficient for 1 each and the cutlery is cheap and flimsy. There are many many rules (more than we have ever encountered) including no lights around the pool after 9 pm. The owner emailed us during our stay when Antonio took photos early one morning whilst we slept, as he had noticed we had moved the table tennis table and left the umbrellas up. This made us feel a little uncomfortable and is typical of the owners formal, somewhat officious style of communication. Instead of calling, he got the agent to send me a text telling me to read his email! There is little local information in the villa (which is usually provided) and, unusually, you have to clean the oven prior to departure despite having paid a fee for cleaners. Overall we would not return. The owners need to be more friendly and less frugal.
