Karen & Rob welcome you to Le Banquet, a charming 200 year old ensemble of three luxury homes nestling deep in the Vezere valley.
Awarded 4 STARS by the Départemental Du Tourisme De La Dordogne and voted 'Best family self-catering holiday in France' by The Gaurdian newspaper.
In the most popular part of the Dordogne and on the edge of the world famous village of Les Eyzies these charming homes at Le Banquet have been lovingly restored preserving their character.
A pretty river runs through the estate and helps to make the extensive grounds and magnificent gardens at Le Banquet an ideal place for relaxation, with ample shade provided by the apple & pear trees.
The large 40ft x 20ft swimming pool & toddler’s splash pool are positioned to gain maximum hours of sunshine with plenty of sun beds, tables & chairs and umbrellas.
Children are well catered for with acres of space to play football, cricket or rounders and a play area with swings, slide, basketball net & boules court.
The games barn houses table tennis, table football, pool, darts, hopscotch, giant connect 4, loads of board games & plenty of toys for the toddlers. It also houses an extensive DVD library, and an information corner with hundreds of leaflets & books on places to visit and things to do & see in the wonderful local area.
Each home is extremely well equipped with all modern comforts including UK satellite TV, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, etc. together with its own terrace, outside furniture and BBQ.
For the little ones, we are more than happy to supply cot & bedding or bed guard, high chair or booster chair, changing mat, baby monitor, 2 step up, potty, night lights, stroller, plastic bowls, plates cutlery etc all included in the price and please rest assured that all of our baby equipment is nearly new and very clean. There are also top and bottom stair gates in La Forge & La Fermette.
All of the properties are connected to FREE WiFi
We provide for you, starter Nespresso pods, tea bags, sugar, spice rack full of different spices, salt & pepper, olive oil, vinegar, foil, cling film, freezer bags, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, all cleaning materials etc.
We also provide all linen, towels, tea towels etc.
LA FERMETTE AT LE BANQUET - your beautiful stone built riverside cottage on three floors – sleeping 6 in comfort and is one of 3 beautiful properties at Le Banquet.
The door from the living room leads onto the pretty riverside terrace with BBQ and furniture for outside living – a tranquil setting in which to relax.
The spacious and spotless kitchen/dining room with old oak beams and stone walls is fully equipped with all modern conveniences including a Nespresso coffee-machine, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooker, fridge, dishwasher and everything you could possibly need to prepare your meals. A large dining table easily seats 6 and being open plan, you can drink and chat whilst dinner is being prepared.
On the first floor you will find two large pretty beamed bedrooms both with twin beds. We can make either or both of them up as a double if you would prefer. All you have to do is choose between the room that looks out over the river and field beyond or the courtyard with it’s beautiful gardens. These two rooms share a modern clean bathroom.
The enchanting en-suite master bedroom with it’s breath-taking carpentry on the floor above has a king-size bed and a modern tiled bathroom. Why not take five minutes and sit in the armchair which overlooks the courtyard and gardens below.
All of our cottages are very well equipped, including UK TV, DVD player, dishwasher, washing machine etc.

Summary: We enjoyed 10 days at Le Banquet and had a lovely relaxing time It's so pretty and the house was great. Our two year old loved the pool and the huge games room which was full of toys, books, puzzles etc to keep her busy. Despite rain early on in our stay, there was plenty to do in the region to keep us busy, (so many pretty villages, markets, chateaus to visit) Thank you Rob and Karen for having us and hope to visit again!

Summary: We loved our stay at Le Banquet! Stayed for 1 week in late June and it was beautiful. The gardens were stunning and we loved the pretty river, view from our back door (fields and cows) and the layout of La Fermette! Very clean and well maintained, better than the photos show it. Perfectly equipped, Karen and Rob had thought of everything - plus they were the perfect owners, friendly and welcoming but totally left us to it. Oh and the games barn was wonderful for us all to play it. Brilliant! All in all it was the perfect French experience for us, highly recommended.

Summary: Exactly what we dreamed of. Karen and Rob were the perfect hosts; there whenever we had questions and very welcoming yet we felt we had the property to ourselves, even with other guests booked. It feels tucked away but it is only minutes from a quaint town and close to all the best attractions of the perigord noir. cest bon!

Summary: We arrived at the end of a very hot summer to stay in La Fermette for 10 days. We were warmly welcomed by Karen and Rob on our arrival and given a tour of the property and it's grounds. Everything was as described and very much to our satisfaction. The position of La Fermette next to Karen and Rob's farmhouse was very picturesque with lovely flowers and herbs surrounding the property and sitting on the banks of the small stream running past the terrace. Inside the property was very nicely furnished with everything you could need. If something wasn't there or was broken, only a mention to Karen or Rob and it would be dealt with tout suite. The situation of the property was perfect for exploring the area of the Perigord Noir with most places of interest within an hour of driving. Karen and Rob recommended places to visit, eat and things to do when asked - they do have a barn full with lots of information on the area although you can't beat it straight from the horse's mouth. Three of my favourite things were the canoeing down The Dordogne, lunch at Le Dejeuner sur l'Herbe in Saint Leon sur Vezere and dinners at Mentalo in Les Eyzies which were excellent and very reasonably priced - don't be put off by the Pizzeria sign as it doesn't serve just pizzas - the fillet steaks were superb! All in all I can't rate the property and the area highly enough. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: We had a wonderful holiday at Le Banquet. Our gite was spacious, comfortable and clean. The gardens and grounds are beautiful. Our children loved the pool and all the games and toys available in the playbarn.

Summary: We stayed for two weeks in La Fermette. The accommodation was outstanding in a picture perfect setting. Stunning house, very spacious, immaculately decorated with everything you could ever need available. Outside terrace is right next to the stream. Very peaceful, a particular favourite sitting area for my husband. Pool is great for kids and Karen and Rob are very welcoming and always made themselves available for any requests or needs. Will definitely be back. Oustanding location and a perfect holiday.

Summary: A perfect location to explore the Dordogne. Our cottage, La Fermette, was spotless with plenty of space and comfortable beds. We stayed with grandparents and our three boys aged 9, 8 & 5 who got on extremely well with the girls in the other two cottages. This, of course, made the holiday with many hours spent playing in the pool. Karen & Rob were great hosts with plenty of ideas for things to do and places to visit. Would highly recommend the night market (Tuesday) in Bouge and kayaking/canoeing on the river - both great fun! That said, sitting, relaxing by the stream outside the cottage with a good book. barbecue for tea and cool beer was most definitely my best bit! Make sure you take insect repellent.

Summary: We decided to explore the Dordogne having been to the Lot for the past 3 years (to a baby/toddler friendly group of gites). We thought we'd treat ourselves to a bit more space and went for La Fermette which is a lovely big house. Karen and Rob are lovely, around if you need to ask them anything but not overbearing at all. They have thought of everything, plenty for the kids to do on site with the play barn, and the pool is great. The grounds are big and the garden is wonderful, with the stream running along one side. Completely relaxing and idyllic. Our kids are 5 and 7 and we had loads to do in the area - in fact, we loved it so much we've just booked to return next year!

Summary: As we go through our own heatwave back in the UK, we find ourselves longingly reminiscing of the 4ft thick walls of our cottage that provided coolness in the midst of a glorious week of sunshine. This was our first visit to the Dordogne and we were enchanted with it. La Fermette was a wonderful place to stay. Karen and Rob provide a wonderful relaxing environment with everything you could want in a gite and we would thoroughly recommend the property. We went with two of our teenage children who were happy to spend pool days as well as activity days. Clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. The gardens are beautiful and the pool area is well maintained and clean with comfortable sun loungers and inflatables to amuse the children (and the adults). The games barn is an extra bonus and great for games of table tennis and snooker with a great collection of games and videos. Kayaking down the Dordogne was possibly the highlight of the activities, although the cycling was great and we went to Squirrel Forest for our high wires amongst the trees. I think we were fortunate to come at the start of summer because we had no queues for any of the activities. Would love to return to this beautiful part of France soon.
