Our accommodation:
Our luxury family apartment named Rijkje is situated on our 5th generation Organic Gouda Cheese Farm. The story goes back to 1847 where the first generation of our family started producing protected Gouda Cheese. We still make it the same way on this farm and we are proud of it. From the 16,000 dairy farms in the Netherlands, there are only 10 left producing protected organic Gouda farmers cheese like we are doing. But only one of the 10 farmers milks the cows fully automatic with a milk robot, and that's us!
Location (rural & central):
The location of our guesthouse is on our traditional Organic Gouda Cheese Farm near the city of Gouda central in Holland. Places like Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam and the Ocean can all be reached in 35 minutes by car. A short drive to everywhere. So perfect for a longer stay.
Do you like to spend a few days on a real traditional cheese farm and experience a premium farm stay with all possible luxury? Then you just found the right address. Wanna see how we make cheese or how the milks the cows?You are more than welcome to see it.
Your apartment:
You have a fully luxury decorated private apartment, excellent for 2 up to 6 persons.
Your apartment is big; 80 m2, equipped with: big private kitchen, walk-in shower, bath, 2 kingsized beds, one traditional sleeping place for children (140x190), air conditioning, own parking space, private entrance, good stable wifi, roof terrace and trampoline for the kids.
Beside your own apartment you can also use the jointly roofterrace and the amazing room with Cow-view, which can also be used as a smoking area. If you want to walk across the farm to see all the different animals like cows, horses, chickens, peacocks, goats, sheep's and baby cows, you are more then welcome. In our farm shop you can also buy our organic products such as cheese, milk and eggs.
Because our guesthouse is situated on our farm, we are always nearby in time of need.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Oudewater at the organic cheese farm. It was great to be able to see the animals and see where the cheese was made. The location was fantastic for exploring the local area and having a supermarket at the end of the road was great. Although it was advertised as a luxury, we felt that it was comfortable - the beds were great and the kitchen was new. We would recommend it to anyone who wanted to get away and enjoy being in the heart of the Dutch countryside.

Summary: From the very first minute we landed in Ruyde Weyde farm, all best sensations we could feel. Great hosting by Van Vleet family, you really feel like been part of the farm as you can walk around with kids and let them have such close experience with the animals. Apartment was perfect, highly well prepared and very clean. Our week stay in the Netherlands has been such an awesome experience. If we plan sometime to return to the Netherlands, I'm very convinced we'll repeat. In addition, very well located to move all around the country. Great place, great surroundings and even better hosting!!!!

Summary: Our group of four, four adults and two children had a wonderful time at this property. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, and the local town. We made several day trips while there and we’re always happy to come home to this property. Definitely a very positive experience.

Summary: Our stay at the farm was one of the most memorable of any properties we have ever booked. The entire van Vliet family treated us warmly and like family from the moment we arrived. Communication before and during our stay was excellent - especially given that we had to tweak our dates just slightly. They accommodated us without any issues or hiccups. Our family of 5 had the 2br + loft flat and it is as wonderful as the photos depict; plenty of room for parents and 3 kids. Very clean and modern with all the amenities. We were there during the record heat wave and the AC was a very welcome perk! I cannot say enough about the farm experience as well. We were out there first thing every morning to greet the animals and did the same before bed. We never once were treated like we were 'in the way' and in fact the host family often took time to answer questions about farm operations, show us where to pick plums and talk about the new calves (two born while we were there!). The proximity to the bigger cities is perfect (we did park and ride and trained into them), really not more than 30-40 min to A'dam, Utrecth, etc. Convenient and modern grocery nearby and a fantastic visitor binder in the flat with their personal recommendations for sights, dining, shopping, etc. So well put together and thoughtful. It was a wonderful, peaceful place to retire to at the end of busy sightseeing days. We created some truly magical memories here and we hope to return!

Summary: What an amazing place! It was definitely the highlight of our trip. The Van Vliets are wonderful and gracious hosts that we are now proud to call friends. They thought of everything to make us feel at home. Everything was spotless! The beds were very comfortable and the walk in shower was great. The kitchen had everything needed to cook breakfast before heading out for the day. The farm is very relaxing and beautiful. We were able to watch the cheese being made and learning the process. We were also able to sample all of the cheese they made and it was delicious!! Our carry-on bags were quite full when we left for home :) We enjoyed feeding baby sheep, walking the grounds and petting the calves. Coming from a big city, we could get used to country life. We will be back!!
