The distinction between ‘house’ and ‘home’ is an Irish one and there’s no place quite like it in an Irish person’s heart. Welcoming our guests and making them feel ‘at home’ is the most important part of what we strive to do here at Valentine House since we decided to offer our ‘home’ for guest house rentals or vacation rentals. Owned and managed by the Casey family Valentine house is conveniently located only 5 -10 min walk from Killarney town centre and boasts 8 en-suite bedrooms which can accommodate 16 people comfortably (An additional two bedrooms are available on request)
Full accommodation includes large lounge and sitting room both with beautiful marble surround open fires , spacious fully equiped modern kitchen, dining room with log burning stove for your comfort, games room with full size pool table, laundry room, 8-10 en-suite bedrooms with top of the range king size beds as well as an outdoor seating area with BBQ perfect for alfresco dining.
In addition to being only a short stroll to Killarney's world famous National Park, home of the majestic McGillycuddy Reeks (the highest mountain range in Ireland) and the breathtaking Lakes of Killarney, Valentine house is also close to all amenities. Within minutes stroll of the property you will find a choice of grocery stores, churches, cathedral, post office, train station, bus station, spas etc all you could wish for and in the evenings there is a wealth of traditional Irish Pubs where you can enjoy Irish music and dance at its finest as well as a host of highly recommended restaurants to choose from.
As well as this our guests will find themselves in the midst of a golfer’s paradise. The Kerry Region is famous for its golf courses and has long since attracted Golfers from around the world and Killarney is the ideal base. Killarney Golf & Fishing Club (Host to the Irish Open in 2010 & 2011), Kenmare, Ballybunion (World class links course), Tralee and Waterville are just some of the courses that can be found in the county of Kerry.
Valentine House provides guests with a perfect base from which to take day trips including the Ring of Kerry, the Gap of Dunloe, Torc Waterfall and the Ring of Beara and much more. Local activities include fishing, hill walking, cycling, horse riding to mention a few. We would be delighted to offer our guests any advice or recommendations on our local attractions or organise any trips or activities upon request.

Summary: Our group of 8 golfers from Canada spent a week at this incredible VRBO at the end of May. It exceeded expectations in every way. Catrina was great to deal with and even had a loaf of fresh baked bread on the table for our arrival. The 8 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, tub and shower, were ideal for our individual needs - we never ran out of hot water and the beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with all of the cooking and eating requirements and the rest of the house was comfortable, clean and modern. Super location - a 10 minute walk to great pubs and shopping and the 40,000 acre national park. We couldn't have done any better with our accomodations - Ireland and this Killarney home set a new bar for our annual international golf trips!!

Summary: My family and I recently planned a family vacation for 11 of us to celebrate our mother's 60th birthday and our brother's high school graduation (ages 3-61). We planned a year in advance and the home owner, Catriona was nothing but exceptional in supporting our planning. She was responsive to my many many emails and provided excellent info and answers to all we were looking for. Upon our arrival, she met us at the house with a welcome basket of food and snacks and to give us a few minute overview of the house. The house itself was beautiful! Huge bedrooms, bathrooms in each room, huge family dining room, big kitchen with all the modern amenities. The bedrooms were immaculate and the beds could not be more comfortable. There was internet access for the house, a pool room, a back drive for the kids to play and everything was a short 10 min walk into town. We all had a tremendous vacation and would highly recommend the Valentine House to anyone planning a family vacation!

Summary: My family and I started planning for this trip back in February 2012, found Valentine House on VRBO, and couldn't have made a better choice for our home away from home. We're 16 adults and there was plenty of space for everyone: each couple having their own bedroom & bath; a huge eat-in kitchen; 2 living areas for gathering together, and much more. The house is beautifully decorated, well kept and clean. The rental owner's daughter, Catriona, could not have been nicer or more helpful throughout the months of planning and during our stay. She helped arrange for a chef to come in and prepare a delicious Christmas dinner for us, and a friend of hers put us in touch with a wonderful guide who took us on a couple of tours. We were able to walk into town easily and enjoy everything town centre has to offer. It was the trip of a lifetime; thanks Catriona for everything!

Summary: Beautiful home, convenient to the center of town, and large enough for our family of 13 (ages 16 to 73). The owners were wonderful and accomodated us even when we arrived early! Each bedroom was more beautiful than the next, the front rooms had glorious views of the mountains. The kids made great use of the pool room while the adults relaxed in the living room. We enjoyed family meals in the spacious dining room, the kitchen had all the conveniences of home. Thank you!

Summary: we stayed here for a week including st. patrick's weekend. We were really happy with this beautiful house for a number of reasons. The location is close to town. You can walk in. There are loads of bedrooms which was great for a large group like ours (15 in total) . All the rooms have en suite bathrooms which we loved. The kitchen was spacious and the poolroom was fantastic for the kids (and some of the adults!) The livingroom was really cosy . We lit the fire in the evenings and we all gathered round swapping stories. All in all it was a wonderful week in this lovely house and i have no hesitation in recommending it to other holidaymakers
