Welcome to Horseshoe Cabin! The name was coined when an old, rusted out horseshoe was found half buried in the backyard.
That horseshoe is framed and still hangs in the kitchen today.
Proving the legend of the horseshoe to be true, Horseshoe Cabin has thrived. It has been an honor to host so many amazing guests with such amazing back stories throughout the years.
Located just minutes from the many restaurants, shops, and art galleries on Main Street in downtown Highlands, the cabin is situated in a very quiet, safe neighborhood just off Dillard Road, providing a peaceful haven in contrast to all the excitement the town has to offer.
Horseshoe Cabin is a mile from Glen Falls and is also in close proximity to many other scenic hiking trails & waterfalls.
This designer cabin offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which were just updated this spring.
The open floor plan features a large living room/dining room combination, a kitchen/bar area, and a small outdoor grilling porch directly off of the kitchen.
The living room boasts high ceilings, wood beams, a ventless gas log stone fireplace with remote control, and new upscale furnishings.
The well-appointed, fully stocked kitchen and Weber gas grill provide everything needed for a night of entertaining or a quiet meal at home.
There is an extensive library to provide endless hours of reading after the day’s activities, lots of games, in addition to smart TV's in all 3 bedrooms, the living room, and on the screened-in back porch.
There is a high-speed cable modem, in addition to WiFi throughout the cabin.
The expanded screened-in back porch provides a peaceful respite after a day of outdoor excursions, activities, or cultural events. Build fires in the wood burning fireplace on chilly autumn evenings, watch football games and your favorite movies on the smart TV, or just relax and listen to nature while enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
Bottled water, paper products, spices, and other essentials are provided as a complimentary convenience for guests...firewood as well.
The cabin features its very own dining guide, complete with photos and reviews. A regular guest of Horseshoe is a food critic in real life. He has carefully compiled an extensive guide to the restaurant scene and its recommended offerings. A hard copy of his exclusive guide is in the cabin. Upon booking your reservation to stay at the cabin, I am happy to email the pdf of his collection in advance, as it is always a good idea to make reservations to many of Highlands' most popular dining destinations well ahead of time.

Summary: The cabin exceeded our expectations! More beautiful than the pictures. Very comfortable furnishings, large rooms, and beautifully decorated. Everything you would need upon arrival from coffee to snacks. The large porches added very enjoyable living space with a beautiful view. We would highly recommend Horseshoe Cabin!

Summary: My husband and I just returned home from a stay in this welcoming and beautiful cabin in Highlands. We absolutely did not want to leave!! Mary Ann could not have been a better host and she thinks of everything to make you feel at home and a special guest in her home. It’s very close to downtown Highlands with all the fun shopping and excellent restaurants. We’ve stay in several different properties in the Highlands/Cashiers area and this is one that we definitely want to return to!! It was perfect for us!I highly recommend this one!! You won’t be disappointed!

Summary: Treated my two college students to a weekend away in the Highlands. This home is a 15 out of 10. I must say, as an owner of a VRBO myself, I am a little jealous. The amenities and personal touches are simply amazing. It's obvious from start to finish that Mary Ann takes great pride in her home and ensuring a wonderful stay for her guests. Summary: I wish I could give this listing more than 5 stars. One of my best ever experiences on VRBO. Mary Ann sent lots of pre-check-in information and made things so easy. Her home was amazing. Lots of extra touches including homemade bread, refrigerator stocked with beverages, comfy bed linens, plush towels. The back porch was a wonderful space to watch football, build a fire, sit and visit. She had a full supply of wood and fire starters. The best part was we could just leave when our time was up. No check out list which was fantastic. Easy drive to downtown Highlands. I will definitely stay here again.

Summary: We stayed here with another couple, who are best friends, & the 4 of us were extremely satisfied. The owner provided exceptional value not only with the accommodations but also provided food in freezer, some beer & wine, & kitchen was fully stocked with spices & supplies. The furniture was very comfortable & we spent a lot of time on the porch. The Best VRBO we have ever stayed & we all can't wait to return!!! Thanks Mary Ann!!!

Summary: We had a wonderful host. She communicated all important information in a timely manner and went far beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The cabin was clean, well built, decorated with high quality, interior design level furnishings. Also, fully equipped with everything we needed and more. It is a truly stunning cabin. We will definitely stay here again if we are in this area.
