9 Bedroom Villa in Santarello, Sinalunga

Villa di Leonardo is a historic villa from the 1500s. Its unique and unrivaled architecture stands on a hill overlooking the valley. His drawings are found in the codes of Leonardo da Vinci, who stayed in this valley to draw up the map. The villa was completely restored in 2011 to give all our guests the best comforts. The house is 1000 sq m wide and has a land of 13. 000 sq m. The rooms are large and spacious and the new and functional bathrooms, crystal showers and olive parquet make it luxurious and unique. Its large halls are embellished with tapestries, wall tears, valuable furniture. There are two kitchens equipped with every comfort, large fridge, large burners, dishwasher and any other necessary utensils. The house as well as having large and large rooms has large common areas to accommodate large groups and / or celebrations.
The wide external area rises on the valley to admire incomparable sunsets. The large porch is suitable for any event and ceremony or even just for a soccer or ping pong match. There are numerous games: billiards, multipurpose field (football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, archery, bowls etc).
Swings and carousels complete the games for the little ones.
The outdoor swimming pool is large and functional to welcome our guests. Numerous fireplaces and a barbecue await your barbecues.
It will be our pleasure and our care, if you wish, to prepare breakfasts, lunches and / or dinners for you and thus allow you to know the real Italian home cooking!
We will also let you experiment with our pizza cooked in the 1500's oven inside our cloister.
The position of the villa is strategic for visiting any place in the area. Our country borders Montepulciano and Pienza which can be reached in a matter of minutes. Wonderful are also San Quirico d 'Orcia and Montalcino. Siena can be reached in about 30 minutes, Florence in about 45 minutes and Rome in 1-30. We are very close to the A1 motorway (only 8 km) and a few km from the Siena-Perugia ring road.
If you feel like the sea then the most beautiful seaside resorts such as Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala, etc. await you in about 1 hour and a half. Elba and aripelaghi are also worth a day visit.
We remain at your disposal also to organize horseback riding, airplane, ballooning by helicopter.
Tours in the cellars, tastings in the villa, wedding celebrations, communions, birthdays, corporate events, Renaissance dinners, etc ... you just have to ask! In our staff there is a cook from the Gambero Rosso circuit and a butler on request. We will organize everything for you in the smallest details and you will only have to enjoy the relaxation of a well-deserved vacation !!!! Our internal lounge with central fireplace exceeds 120 square meters and a large porch of over 130 square meters will welcome all the big events ... allowing any event even in bad weather. A few kilometers away is the town center where you can find every service, pharmacy, ATM, bank, bar, shopping centers, shopping outlets etc. There are countless small characteristic restaurants where you can taste one of the most renowned kitchens in the world!

Summary: Our group of 23, ranging in age from 9-73, stayed for ten days in July. The property is beautiful, clean, and very centrally located. The highlight of the stay, however, was our incredible host and hostess. Roberto and Maria were generous with their time and information, answered our numerous questions, and helped with reservations/directions/planning outings. Our family is still talking about Maria’s amazing cooking. We are already planning another visit.

Summary: The villa is wonderful, with beautiful grounds & friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgable hosts. Maria and Roberto could not have been more helpful; particularly so when some in our party needed a lot of help with transportation and Maria took charge promptly and with great success getting them where they needed to go. Maria's cooking (which we used on a limited basis) also was delicious, and Roberto's knowledge of the area and history was an unexpected bonus. He even played guide with us one day on a spontaneous trip to Pienza. Great hosts! My only issue was with communication before the trip. I was trying to sort out some issues and on multiple occasions Maria was extremely slow to respond. I say this only because it caused some unnecessary stress. Even with this, the stay was delightful and I highly recommend.

Summary: Villa Di Leonardo is offered by two wonderful hosts who are available and committed to providing a great stay. The location is perfect for visiting multiple charming hill towns within 20-30 minutes. The facility is very large and accommodated our family of 13 with room to spare. The grounds and view are beautiful. There is no denying the age and authenticity of the home, which is what we wanted, but all the bathrooms have been modernized and A/C works perfectly in every bedroom. Plenty of options to occupy children - our ranged from 1-17. I would suggest telling the hosts in advance how you will be using the villa — they use it for everything from weddings to business meetings to family outings, and we had to reconfigure some things for our family purposes upon arrival. But they aim to please, including preparing a pizza party one afternoon in the authentic pizza oven on site and preparing a full meal another evening.

Summary: I celebrated my birthday with friends at this wonderful historic villa. The house manager & resident chef Maria was very attentive and accommodating to our needs. She helped me and my guests with arranging everything from airport transfers to arranging day trips.. The property was very comfortable and the meals were delicious. I would definitely go again.

Summary: The property is very spacious and the bedrooms with attached baths provided privacy that individual family members desired. There are several large areas where we could all dine together- inside and out. This is a huge bonus for our large family. Lots of great historical sites and towns quite close by.

Summary: The host Mery and Roberto were a delight. The meals that she prepared for us on 3 occasions we’re delightful. We were there June 19-26. We were 18 in our family from 84 to 19. The Villa di Leonardo was the perfect place for us.. we could visit all the beautiful surrounding towns. We did wine tasting tour, balllon over Tuscany, tour of Siena. So much history in Tuscany. My 3 children and 8 grandchildren and spouses made many memories there.

Summary: Maria and Roberto were amazing hosts for our group of 20 celebrating 80th and 50th birthdays. Maria cooked dinner every night and prepared wonderful and different meals each night. Roberto shared with us the history of the home and area. Our kids loved swimming in the pool and running around the property. I would highly recommend the house and hosts! It’s a holiday we will never forget and we can’t wait to come back!

Summary: Our family stayed here for a week. There were 14 people ranging in age from 22 to 87 and we all had a wonderful trip. Maria and Roberto were perfect hosts, more than accommodating, very responsive to all our needs and respectful of our privacy. The house had so much room, great character, and the views were incredible! My son proposed to his girlfriend as the family gathered on the porch overlooking the beautiful landscape making the week even more special. Suggest taking advantage of Maria’s cooking expertise. We enjoyed wood fired pizza one night and a home made dinner of gnocchi, pasta and ravioli which she patiently taught us to prepare from scratch in a cooking class that afternoon. If you want an unforgettable family vacation this is the place.
