Positive: Big, clean, comfortable room with a nice view over the lake. Bathroom is excellent. Comfortable beds. Friendly helpful staff throughout

Negative: The air con in our room was too fierce and we found we couldn’t turn it down to a gentle fan speed. That said, the bed covers were good and warm

Positive: Lovely room, great staff, amazing view over lake from room and roof top bar

Negative: Pool had no sun loungers and just behind car park so not appealing to sunbath. 15-20 walk to centre but you can take taxi or bike

Positive: The hotel was new and the breakfast area offered a fantastic view of Lake Phayao.

Negative: When I checked in, I found ants crawling in from the balcony into the room, and there weren’t just one or two ants. This seemed to be a perennial problem for the hotel, based on other reviews I have read. The housekeeping staff were quick to spray insecticide and the swarm did not return the next few days during my stay, only a few stragglers were seen from time to time. The location was not within walking distance (40-50mins) from the main Phayao dining and shopping strip.

Summary: New hotel; ants in the room and location far from Phayao main strip.
