Built towards the 18th century, its recent restoration respected the original constructive elements that provide it with exceptional authenticity, such as huge masonry walls with hand-crafted stone lintels and the centennial chestnut beams of the rooms, each of which is oriented to a cardinal point. Summary: We had a fantastic stay at Mario's house. The house is up in the mountains, but really easy to get to. The road is good. It is an authentic home with great old details. In the home everything you need is there. From kitchen supplies to tour guide magazines. It is located in a really quiet and a rural area where you only hear the sound of cow bells of the genuine Asturian cows and you can enjoy the view on the beautiful mountains. In the morning you see dots of clouds over the mountains, it is so beautiful. We loved the fruit trees all around. Lemon, nuts, apples, plums, the whole region is very fertile and green! Within 10 minutes you are in the city of Arriondas where there is a supermarket and restaurants. The house is close to Picos de Europa. We visited the viewpoint Pedro Udaondo. You can also hike in the region, we did a family friendly hike a bit more to the east, it was 14 kilometres and it was named Ruta del Alba and followed the river. The coast with big cliffs is also close to the house, appx. 30 minutes. We would definitely come back to this lovely home up in the mountains and can definitely recommend it to other families.

Summary: Sehr ruhige Lage mit tollem Ausblick; echt netter Vermieter; guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und für Strandbesuche. Very tranquil location with superb views into the hills and mountains; very friendly and helpfull hirer; good location for hikes in the mountains as well as for the beaches.

Summary: This is a lovely house with wonderful views, the garden is pleasant, full of birds which enjoyed the stale bread that we put out. The neighboring cat also enjoys the visitors food. The owner speaks good English and is helpful.The negatives were the arbitrary parking, the access road is very narrow and we had a problem with the septic tank being full causing a bad smell in the cottage. The owner did manage to get the tank emptied, so I guess we were just a bit unlucky.

Summary: We had a great week here. The house is spacious and well equipped. There is a seating area in the garden with fantastic views to the mountains. It is a good location for access to the many walks in the Picos and also places like Gijón and Oviedo. The host Mario is very helpful and responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. I would highly recommend it.

Summary: Well equipped and comfortable property that has been modernised whilst retaining loads of character. Quiet location with great views across to the hills. Beds comfortable, living and dining space plentiful and well equipped kitchen. The location is stunning in a hamlet (population 9!) with only the sounds of distant cowbells to disturb you. A great place to relax. The 'welcome pack' from the owner (cider, cheese, biscuits, bread, fruit) was a lovely gesture. A brilliant find and a superb week's holiday.

Summary: L'Antoxana is in a tranquil & beautiful location with wonderful views across the valley and mountainside. It has obviously been thoughtfully restored with many authentic features; it is spacious, comfortable and generally very well-equipped, particularly in the bathrooms. Mario was a very welcoming and helpful host and we appreciated the complimentary items of local cheeses, cider etc we were greeted with on arrival. The only request I would make on behalf of future British guests would be a copy of the house information in English!
