Negative: Beach was a disappointment . Always litter and rubbish . The beaches on koh mak in general were disappointing with litter and rubbish and was not what I was expecting . Head to koh kood for cleaner more picturesque beaches and water

Positive: They accommodated us even though the hotel was under renovation. The service was also satisfactory. The breakfast was also sumptuous and delicious. We will bookmarksng next. A bed where we can sleep forever is good too.

Negative: What a pitiful mess! Curtains hanging crooked because the Velcro has long since given up, a faucet that feels like it could snap off at any moment, furniture with veneer peeling off in chunks, and a bathroom full of crudely patched-up cracks in the tiles. Stained pillowcases that make you cringe, the mattress is like a plank so sideways sleeping is impossible, hot water that constantly cuts, and a front door you simply cannot lock properly. Then there’s the loose wire dangling from the ceiling where a lamp once hung… a grim reminder of what this place might have been. Outside next to the terrace of my bungalow, an old, plant-overgrown jacuzzi sits abandoned, not as an invitation to relax but as a sad eyesore that begs the question of why it just simply hasn’t been removed. The restaurant is no better: a lifeless, soulless space with the food - served on plastic plates. It must be said that the food is quite good and the staff is truly wonderful. It’s a shame they have to deal with this sad place. But they really do their best to make sure you are satisfied. The rooftop terrace, which offers stunning sunset views, feels hazardous. The planks are rotten and uneven; you’re either at risk of falling through them or cutting your foot on an exposed edge. The stairs from the restaurant down to the beach are another deathtrap—crumbling under the weight of concrete rot. So do not use them! The entire resort feels like a relic of its former self. Many years ago, this might have been a dream destination, but it’s clear that no maintenance has been done since. Everything is dilapidated, worn out, and depressing. It feels like stepping into a stuffy retirement home, complete with residents who wake up early just to claim their sunbeds with towels, leaving the rest of the guests scrambling for a spot. And the hotel? It does absolutely nothing about it.

Positive: The location is amazing, just next to the beach and near a lot of restaurants. The room is very spacious and has an enormous bathroom, a good balcony facing the beach. The restaurant is facing the beach, with a lot space and shade, the breakfast was enough and fresh. All the staff are friendly and always with a big smile. The reception is always friendly and explains all the questions on how to get around on the island.

Negative: They have a big problem with bed bugs, they didn't change the bed linens (our stay was 5 nights), at the 3 night (nightmare feeling crawling on us all night). Unfortunately we noticed it too late, so the bed bugs are on our clothes as well. We met another french couple that stayed the same number of nights we did, and the same problem. They were the ones that explained were bed bugs and said we should ask to change the bed linens.
