Positive: Amazing view, really a beautiful place. Nice food. The Jacuzzi.
Negative: I was very excited to participate in their winter activities. But it was a sequence of disappointments and communication mishaps that left me questioning the professionalism and courtesy of some members of the staff. The highlight of my trip and stay at Malangen was supposed to be dogsledding. Unfortunately, I received a mail explaining that there was a fire, and the activity was cancelled to protect the dogs. I completely understood and appreciated that the dogs health came first. However, I was left uncertain about what would happen next. There were no immediate alternatives or clear information provided. At my arrival, I tried to book a snowmobile tour for the next day as a replacement. Later in the day, I was told dogsledding might actually still happen at 1:30pm. Then, at noon of the dogsledding tour day, I was informed again that it might not go ahead. Throughout this process, I waited for the hotel to call me with updates or offer a replacement like the snowmobile tour at 4pm. After the first phone call, I was told to send a text, which I did, but no one responded. I called back at 1:50pm and was told to wait. Finally, after I complained at 3:50pm, they called me at 4pm to say I could join a snowmobile tour at 4:30pm. We ended up being the only participants on the snowmobile tour. It felt like the hotel just wanted to give me something to do, rather than provide the true experience described in their program. When I pointed out that the tour was not as advertised, they offered me a discount, but the price was still far too high for what it was. The tour itself consisted mostly of driving in circles in a small area, which was very disappointing. My experience left me feeling that the hotel lacked consideration, courtesy, and professionalism towards guests. And The absence of genuine courtesy made the situation worse.

Positive: A very nice hotel in a beautiful location with stunning views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also had one meal at the restaurant, which was quite good. The place has a great atmosphere overall, and the pub is perfect for relaxing in the evening.
Negative: The breakfast was rather poor for a hotel of this category. Also, the lights on the pier stay on all night, which spoils the view from the rooms facing the mountains and makes it almost impossible to see the Northern Lights when they appear. The lights reflect on the windows and block the view completely. Finally, the hotel is very far from anything — cafés, restaurants, or any kind of “civilization.” There’s just a small mini market and a gas station nearby; anything else is over a 30-minute drive away.
