Positive: This resort was everything I ever dreamed it would be! We rented a car and drove from Tromso. We spent two nights in a cabin and one night in hotel both had amazing views and we enjoyed both the same! We were fortunate to see northern lights 2 out of 3 nights we were there! The guides are amazing for the excursions and really make the experience! But you will be cold (as expected) and its a 1km uphill walk to most of them so I’d recommend booking excursions on separate days for your experience to be most enjoyable especially if traveling with kids. Positive: Remote & tranquil location. Activities & staff were excellent & very interesting. Staff were exceptional as they are excited to be in that location & keen to share their knowledge & pleasant to be with. The lakeside sauna & jacuzzi & icy Arctic swim.
Negative: The privately owned lakeside property was dated & cramped with only one tiny bathroom for five people & was located downstairs. Although we booked for five adults this tiny cabin comprised two bunk bedrooms & only one double bedroom. By comparison, the modern & spacious ‘premium’ hotel owned cabin where we spent our first night had three double bedrooms with bathroom upstairs & WC downstairs. We much preferred this cabin but it was unavailable for the duration of our stay. There is clearly a variety of standards of accommodation on offer & not all equal.

Positive: The hotel rooms are beautifully designed with panoramic views across the fjord. The breakfast was delicious as were other meals
Negative: When the weather isn’t great there’s not a huge amount to do and it’s a long drive back into Tromso. If you’re happy reading etc inside then it’s very comfortable

Positive: The hotel is located in an amazing place. The fjord, the snowy landscape and the northern light will make your winter trip here without a doubt unforgettable. We had two guides that were great and the restaurant staff is very friendly. Snowshoeing at night was the highlight of our stay. Saw the northern lights three nights in a row.
Negative: The resort did not make us feel very welcomed. Our cottage had no wifi or tv, when we asked about it at the reception we were told they were aware, that’s it. There were some other issues with the cottage: floor not completely clean, balcony door that didn’t close, bedroom curtains didn’t close, bad smell in the bathroom. Maintenance came to fix the door, cleaning came for the floor but for the curtain issues we eventually bought trashbags to have a good sleep. Cleaning did not come by to take out trash after night 2 (we stayed 6 nights). No bathrobes available at the jacuzzi’s. I would have like a little concern from hotel staff after we told them about the issues in our room or in general in giving us a gret experience. Even though Jan was an amazing guide I would not recommend Sami stories and reindeer feeding, only two reindeers and stories not told by Sami people makes it too expensive for the experience to me. Dogsledding was fun but the group too big so a lot of waiting. Restaurant is decent for Norwegian standards but has a limited menu and is expensive.

Positive: Situated on the fjord facing west the rooms are large, have huge windows and excellent views, walk in showers are good, sink taps are pleasing to look but weird to use. No TV (fine), no USB sockets (irritating). Decent hikes available up to lake and around abouts. Dinner and breakfast were average quality, staff in reception were helpful but staff in resto were largely absent.
Negative: No USB ports in an otherwise nicely presented room. Breakfast and dinner were average...have had so much great food in this region that average stands out as underwhelming now.
Summary: Nice accommodation but breakfast/dinner bit disappointing
