Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Nice, spacious, timber room with a great little conservatory which caught the afternoon sun and provided ocean views where you could see the whales feeding in the bay. All clean and comfortable, a nice base for the area, and the Wifi internet worked well. The breakfast was basic but very tasty and the dinner was good but very expensive, about $50.
Negative: Soundproofing between rooms was bad. No TV.
Summary: Great base for the Drangsnes area.

Positive: Restaurant was good, bed was comfortable, "sun room" was nice.
Negative: Booking said there would be a couch, which we needed, but there was none. Booking also said there would be access to a shared kitchen, but there was not. We'd brought groceries, but were forced to eat in the restaurant. Fortunately, it was good, but then we were unable to eat out as planned the next night in Reykjavik.

Positive: Very nice lady at the reception/ café. The breakfast has everything you need, even gluten free bread !! Room clean and cosy, and well furnished shared kitchen. Very nice location, nice to walk around, amazing hot pots nearby with changing room and shower ( not free, you pay for maintenance, which is normal ).
Negative: .A separate toilet from the bathroom would be very nice... .You can hear quite a lot the people coming and going in the house
Summary: Very nice stay at Malarhorn

Positive: Location was convenient and the room was very clean and comfortable Price was reasonable and access to a kitchen although in a separate building was handy but there were no pots / pans cooktop etc. Kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge basically.
Negative: It was very quiet with possibly only 1 other guest but they put us next to each other and we could hear every conversation. It would have been better if they split the quests when not busy
Summary: Good option

Positive: Cute little town with public hottubs, a lovely walk to the top of the Fjörd, very nice view from the room. The facility was fine, comfortable room.
Negative: We were there in off season, so there was no crew at the reception, no breakfast and almost no other guests. This will probably be a vibrant place in peak season, for now it was ok, the shared kitchen was sober but clean.

Positive: The bed was comfortable enough. Blind black-our enough to be able to sleep as long as desired without face mask. The kitchen had basic facilities/equipment, but not many of them for the 4 twin rooms sharing the kitchen. Clean towels provided.
Negative: There was barely any signing to the location. Message sent about check-in process mentioned house numbers besides the room numbers, which were no-where on the houses themselves to help identify - only room numbers. There was no key in the lock box to our room, so had to call, and again, kept asking about which house I'm in - if the houses had numbers, I would be able to tell, but I only had the room numbers as a reference. Was advised to go to reception which during normal hours (what are those??) would be open. When we found the reception where the restaurant was, it was closed, probably as it was off season. Got the key eventually as the person cleaning the rooms had forgotten it in her pocket. Parking are was also not very clear where or how, but as it was off season, it wasn't many cars there. The English information around (for example housekeeping sheet in the kitchen) was very muddled with German, something that surely any spellchecker could have fixed. The room was advertised as double room, which then said it is two single rooms. Again - something to bear in mind, as it seems whoever put up the information on booking.com is not very clear on the English definition of a double room, meaning a double bed. The room is really really tiny. It has a foldable table which takes up about 40% of the walkable floor space when opened up. No space for large suitcases for sure. The page mentions very good breakfast, but had nothing more written about that anywhere in the booking. I was told breakfast is only included during on-season, May-September time. Would be nice to have it clarified also.
Summary: OK for one night, but even then, quite a few issues.

Positive: Tury our hostess was beautiful and very accomodating. The accommodation facilities (great comfy bed) are wonderful. We had a full kitchen for cooking, which we loved. The area is stunning, and we were able to capture the northern lights. Highly recommend staying here.
