Positive: Fantastic location, very helpful staff, nice room and upgrade.

Negative: The ice maker was the loudest machine I’ve ever heard. Every 15 or so minutes whilst it churned out ice cubes there was a deafening crashing/exploding racket that shook the entire resort! Unacceptable and ridiculous!☹️

Positive: The location and rooms and style of hotel were fabulous.

Negative: They favoured and prioritised people renting lounges during the day to resident guests. The staff on the whole were very polite but the service should have been better for the money paid.

Positive: From the moment we booked to stay, the team at Mandraki made everything easy - concierge was in touch to set out a whole variety of options regarding travel and our stay itself, and they were responsive right up until arriving and during our stay to help make any arrangements we needed. We were met at the hotel's boat in the harbour by a member of concierge and taken to the hotel, and since arriving we’ve been looked after effortlessly by the wonderful team including the restaurant and bar staff, cleaners and in particular the beach team who always brought our food and drinks with a smile (there is a buzzer for service on each parasol which is dangerous, in a good way). Our room (beach side suite) was perfect - fabulous outdoor area for private relaxation, super king and very comfortable bed, Diptyque products, quality linen and towels. The beach and grounds generally are immaculately looked after, including by the delightful and very hands on owners of the hotel (and their beautiful dog). We had breakfast each day and dinner one evening in Captain M, along with lunch on the beach every day - everything we ate was delicious. We both had a deep tissue massage, which was excellent and good value for money. The hotel is a circa 20 min walk along a lovely coastal path to Idra town, or else the hotel’s boat runs hourly from 10am-10pm (you can request later collection) so it’s easy to get the best of both worlds. We stayed one night in Idra town before our 3 nights at Mandraki and if you’re looking for a more relaxing break as opposed to what is effectively a city break, Mandraki is the way forward. We’ll certainly be recommending the place, and we’ll certainly be back!

Positive: Beautiful historical property. The rooms were really lovely and great view. Hotel menu boasted sushi. You could tell the staff wanted to accommodate but with lack of training it’s difficult. Witnessed an argument between hotel staff and a guest due to unhappy with the resort.

Negative: Staff was very attentive but poorly trained. Thee we use only been open since mid summer 2023. Hotel website boast sushi as part of their international menu. Not avail some days. Not that we wanted it but why out on website if not avail. The website says “adults only” but the place was loaded with kids. They don’t tell you that apparently they heed to keep a portion of their beach/ beach chairs for the public who arrive all day in water taxis from the port. We reserved beach chairs the night before (required) only to be relegated to second row due to taxi’s patrons. Power went out to whole island while we were there and we were it would be 2 hours or possibly 2 days and that this happens often. It’s a gorgeous setting but for $1100+ per day we will not go back. Based on having been to Greece more than 12 times and been on at least 15 islands hydra and the Mandraki won’t be on our return list Overall
