Welcome to Camp Mange Takk (pronounced "Mung-ga Tak"); Norwegian for "Many Thanks."
Built and furnished in rustic Adirondack style. A 28-foot mighty white pine sets off the open plan with water and mountain views from every window. Four bedrooms, two full bathrooms will comfortably sleep eight. (boathouse not included in rental).
Camp Mange Takk isn't "roughing it." Completely renovated with 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a well outfitted kitchen and plenty of amenities make your stay comfortable and luxurious. A large deck, screened porch, stone patio and swim dock mean everyone can find a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks.
The great room with it's large stone fireplace accommodates your entire family. Beautiful lake and mountain views abound from every window in this architecturally unique home.
Long Lake is located in the very heart of the Adirondack Park (the geographic center of the park is Round Island, just a half mile north in the middle of the lake). The lake is 14 miles long surrounded by mountains and wilderness perfect for any type of exploring. Hike the local trails (some handicap accessible) or challenge yourself with one of 46 High Peaks all within 90 minutes from Mange Takk.
The Adirondack Museum, the Adirondack Observatory and Wild Center are each about 20 minutes away or just cozy up with a good book and relax.
After a big day, relax in the hot tub and count the stars.
Plenty to do, or do nothing at all.
Minimum stay 7 nights (Saturday to Saturday) June through mid September, Christmas week, Winter school break and Spring break. All others, minimum 2 nights.

Summary: Mange Takk is a gorgeous Adirondack camp with every comfort of home! This was our second stay and we were just as thrilled with this place as the first time. The views of Long Lake and the brilliant fall colors right from the greatroom were breathtaking. Numerous hikes and excursions are nearby, or just grab a book and read next to a warm fire. Ed and Rebecca are wonderful hosts and their home is a treasure.

Summary: Pictures do not do this place justice. Great room is awesome, and definitely worth the money! Only criticism is the tv was a bit small, but not a big deal. We loved it!!

Summary: Winter 2021: Mange Takk is what I imagine when I think of a lodge in the Adirondacks -- with the added bonus of a fabulous kitchen. You can tell from the pictures that it's all gorgeous. The living room & the view from the living room are especially beautiful; it was the ideal spot for us to relax in front of the fireplace and to gather around the table for board games. What you cannot tell from the pictures is that there are hundreds of little touches that will tickle and delight you. Just 3 quick examples: the beds and bedding are divine; the fireplace is huge & the firewood is abundant; the hot tub overlooking the lake is irresistible. The place was spotless and the owners were wonderfully helpful. Plus, there was terrific hiking in the area. My dream come true!

Summary: We are so happy that Ed and Rebecca shared their beautiful home with us. It was a perfect place to celebrate Claire's 70th birthday, and a great base of hiking and biking or sitting by the lake or sipping wine in front of a roaring fire. The fall colors were amazing on the mountainsides this time of year, and Ed's recommendation of the Left Bank Cafe in Saranac Lake for a special dinner was the piece de resistance! We left renewed, with many memories to smile about.

Summary: This beautifully crafted home nestled on the shores of Long Lake is the perfect spot for rest and relaxation. The screened in porch, swimming dock, and deep fire pit offer everything one desires in the Adirondacks. The charming town of Long Lake is a favorite of ours and makes for fun exploration by boat or on foot with lots of great hikes nearby. Owners Ed & Rebecca were responsive hosts who clearly take pride in their thoughtfully designed property. A gem in the wild.

Summary: This house is gorgeous- quintessential Adirondacks. Every detail was carefully thought out. The lake is beautiful, the location of the house is great and all the amenities were fantastic. Ed and Rebecca were gracious hosts. We had a fantastic week here with my parents and our four young sons. We will definitely be back!!

Summary: A unique property that enhances function with aesthetics. We were five adults and three children ranging from 17 months to 77 years, and there was something for everyone. Some picked wild raspberries; some toured Sagamore; some rode paddle boards all the way to town; some watched the Olympics; some hiked; some rode mountain bikes; some launched kayaks; some fished; and some jumped off the dock 109 times. Most remarkable, this is our first rental that had clean, organized kitchen drawers and cabinets. Kudos all around.

Summary: The house was very nice and had a great location right on the lake. The views were stunning, we loved using the hot tub and steam shower after taking long hikes! The kitchen was very well equipped hadeverything we needed. This was out first visit to the Adirondacks and would love to go back! We hiked castle rock, coney mountain and owls head as well as went to see buttermilk falls and death brook falls. We did one day trip to Lake Placid, cute town and the alpine coaster was lots of fun!
