Positive: This stunning property was tucked away in the French countryside, serene and quiet. It was like taking a step back in time. Filled with exquisite artwork and antiques.
Negative: We absolutely loved the property but such an old historic castle of course does not have air conditioning and our stay happened to be during record high temperatures.

Positive: The manoir was beautiful, the gardens and surroundings amazing. Breakfast was wonderful - good bread, cheese, tea, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice and a nice selection of delicious, homemade jams. The rooms are beautiful, the beds comfortable. We had everything we needed during our stay. Diane was welcoming, very helpful with recommendations for dinner and exploring the area - and conversation with her interesting and delightful.
Summary: We spent two nights at Manior de Plessis au Bois and wish we could have stayed longer. Conveniently located close to Pa

Positive: Great location middle-of-nowhere quiet and calm, but short drive to interesting sights. The manor itself is beautiful and authentic - not even a castle remake by a 19th century aristocratic, but full on heritage monument from the 16th century. The refurbishments are sufficient for a comfortable stay, but do not go overboard ruining the authenticity of the manor. The gardens are, of course, beautiful and well kept to a picture postcard level. The beds and mattresses are, fortunately, new and very comfortable.
Negative: The breakfast was excellent for light breakfast eaters like ourselves. However, if you expect or need bigger and more elaborate breakfast service, you may need to engage with the host. The homemade jams where wonderful and the coffee was a nice strong brew.
Summary: Excellent stay in beautiful property with a very discreet, charming and helpful host.

Positive: We stayed 2 nights with a trip to Pierrefonds and Coucy castles and Soissons in the day. The room was fabulous, huge, with an equally large bathroom (with bath and shower). We brought bread, cheese etc with us to make the most of our time there so it was great to have a table and chairs. Our hosts were lovely and it was a real experience to have breakfast by the open fire. The temperature was freezing cold outside but our room was warm. Good location, rural but easy to get to main roads and we would love to come back.
