Summary: We spent a lovely, peaceful three weeks at this property. Sugarloaf key is an ideal location for swimming, sleeping, walking, just enjoying being outdoors. It's also a short drive to more stimulating Key West. The house is really big. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms and a very large general living area that includes the kitchen. There's also a large porch. It's surrounded by vegetation, palm trees and banana plants. During our stay, several bunches of bananas were ripening, though they never quite got to the edible stage before we had to leave. A bit less vegetation would have allowed a better view of the canal and sky, but on the other hand, it kept the porch cool in spite of the daytime heat. The house is on a canal that's about a quarter mile long. You just walk out of the house and get in the water. The fish are right there, completely visible, and you can fish right off the dock (we don't fish but others do). The water on this key is pristine and the canals are calm. Rosalie, the owner and hose, lives several hours away, but she has a stable of people who can take care of situations when they arise. We got there just days after she'd had a new air conditioning system installed. It stopped working the night we arrived, but she was able to scour up a very competent workman who fixed it (that night) and it worked fine the whole rest of the time. In other ways too, Rosalie was very responsive to our needs and questions. Couldn't ask for a better host. Thanks, Rosalie! We plan to come back next year.

Summary: Wonderful house, well stocked and clean. My kids loved the swim canal and the yard is beautiful. We would definitely rent from Rosalie again!

Summary: We totally enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the screened-in porch and ate most of our meals there. The house is very comfortable. We appreciated the new refrigerator (not shown in photos). The sunsets were glorious. The neighborhood is quiet and walking our dog was relaxing. Driving to Key West was easy (driving in KW is a different story) and we loved the Truman Little White House, Butterfly Conservency, Botanical Gardens, Florida Eco Discovery Center, snorkeling at Higgs Beach. We had a easy drive to Big Pine Key to snorkel with Captain Hook out to Looe Key - absolutely gorgeous! Roxie was a great host and we will happily book this house again next time we go to the Keys.
