Positive: Beautiful location and views, clean and comfortable hotel, staff was very helpful and polite, especially valet staff. The beach location is unbeatable and the pools were also nice. Really enjoyed this property and would go back there some day if the rate on booking.com was decent.
Negative: It cost extra, about $30+ to rent an umbrella on the beach each day despite the resort fee. The two chairs were complimentary, but sitting in the sun with no sun cover is unreasonable and unsafe. I believe the umbrella should have included with the two chairs, if for just two people. Service charges on food and drinks were also excessive when already paying a resort fee. The part that was perhaps most disappointing was the staff that tried to pull you into a room to discuss enrolling in the Marriott Bonvoy membership. They were really annoying and disruptive. They made you feel very pressured and tried to entice you with a gift card, supposed points and benefits, and cocktails - but really they just interrupted you and tried to prevent you from saying no and walking away. I would have expected better from the Marriott brand, it felt like a scam and like they were trying to hustle us. We were on vacation and were busy, had plans for reservations, activities, excursions, etc. If they wanted people to sign up it needs to be less aggressive - it just made me reluctant to even consider.
Summary: Amazing location and comfy clean hotel, although very pricey and multiple unexpected costs.
