Positive: A lovely experience. Friendly welcome, very helpful from the owner and his son. Room was large, comfortable, relaxing and very clean. We stayed half board for two nights and the food was magnificent. Nice baths. Went hiking in the hills one day, superb and took the ferry to the island the next and from there to Nagahama. Great trip.

Negative: Imazu town is a bit quiet. No clear centre.

Positive: The host of the guesthouse was very kind, and the extra dinner we ordered—Wagyu sukiyaki—was incredibly delicious. I would definitely visit again if I have the chance!

Positive: Breakfast was sumptuous and beautiful. Shabu shabu dinner, ordered after arriving, was excellent. The milk tofu and shashimi entrees were amazing, so were the meat and vegetables. We were very happy with the owner’s recommendation of the cruise to Chikubu island. The onsen was fabulous. Walking distance to the train station and many good restaurants in spite of being a small town. We enjoyed walking along the lake and listening to the waves. We would highly recommend this ryokan.

Summary: A relaxing 2 days after Kyoto. Nice to see small town Japan.
