MAS SUNYER is a Spanish country estate from the XIII century - part of the architectural heritage of Catalonia - located just a few kilometers behind the southern French border - near the Costa Brava.
The property consists of 2 houses. There is ample living space for 22 people for special occasions such as weddings, anniversary celebrations and seminars. In the case of a wedding, a charming guest house is also available for the bride and groom.
12 hectares of land, embedded in a Mediterranean natural idyll, guarantee absolute privacy and offer a unique ambience for special celebrations, a weekend with friends, etc... but of course also for a relaxing vacation with family and friends. Weekly reservations are limited to 12 people, a higher number is possible on request.
Regarding weddings: Catering & concerts by arrangement are possible.
The property offers its guests a main house and an annex for use and is rented exclusively to one (!) group at a time. In other words, there are no parallel bookings, regardless of the number of people.
For groups of up to 12 people, the price only includes occupancy of the main house. On request - for an additional charge - the adjoining house can also be rented.
The interior is spacious and flooded with light. Cooking enthusiasts will love the large kitchen with direct access to the terrace.
The garden offers a BBQ and complete paella equipment for 20 people. There is an adjoining covered terrace.
WiFi is available free of charge.
The spacious, well-kept garden area has a pool / boules court. There is also a table tennis table and options for badminton and volleyball.

- The composition of the respective group must be announced in advance.
- Reservations for groups or parties of people under the age of 30 are not permitted.
- The organization of student parties, bachelor parties and drinking parties is prohibited. Violations will result in an immediate ban from the premises.
- Despite the fact that Mas Sunyer is secluded: From 2:00am - even in the garden - the volume must be reduced to room volume.
- On request and if possible, a breakfast service / catering can be offered.
- Shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity: The small town of Maçanet de Cabrenys is only 2.5 km away and offers everything you need.
The favored location guarantees Mediterranean picturesqueness and tranquility as well as the uncomplicated access to exciting excursion destinations, both on the Spanish and French side. The Mediterranean can be reached in 50 minutes and the reservoir is in the immediate vicinity (10 minutes). The region at the foot of the Pyrenees offers nature lovers, hikers, mountain bikers and photography enthusiasts a wonderful backdrop.
Figueres, the capital of our region, can be reached in 25 minutes by car and offers its visitors a wide range of shopping facilities and restaurants. The area of art and culture, characterized by the world-famous Salvador Dalí Museum, deserves special mention.
If you want to discover the global metropolis of Barcelona, we recommend the more relaxed option: the AVE high-speed train takes you from Figueres to Barcelona, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, in 45 minutes.

Summary: Great stay at Mas Sunyer villa! The villa is large to welcome big groups in a lovely atmosphere, The facilities are well equipped, and clean. The place is quiet and not far from several spots in Spain and France. The villa owners’ are very kind and welcoming. They facilitated our stay, as well as the check in and check out. Great moment there and sweet souvenirs.

Summary: The house and location are absolutely stunning, however, the overall experience was soured by the management of the property. A group of 18 of us stayed here for my fiancee's birthday, upon arrival I went through the check-in process with the host, which took over half an hour. During this time my friends were told they could not use the bathroom whilst they waited outside as "we weren't renting the house yet". We had to pay an additional deposit at check-in which we were told €10 would be deducted for every appliance that was dirty, even though an initial cleaning fee was paid at booking. Once we were allowed into the house we found the beds were not made, there was no toilet paper, no towels, and no soap, even though the listing is described as fully equipped. We held a party and the host asked if any more guests would arrive other than the 18 staying to which I replied no. At multiple points throughout the night my guests and I were questioned with torches in our faces asking how many people were here and that "they would remember faces, and would be counting". Finally, upon booking the check-out time was stated as 10am, once we arrived this had changed to 9am on the booking, We made the 9am check-out only to be informed that its only 9am during high season and we could have checked out later. The experience was quite disappointing as my guests and I were made to feel like children on a school trip.

Summary: Suzanne and Herbert went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable from the communication and planning ahead of time, to buying extra equipment we needed for us before arrival, to helping plan day-of coordination for wedding. Beautiful view, estate hidden in mountains and everyone had an amazing time.

Summary: We had to postpone our stay several times due to Covid travel restrictions and yet Suzanna remained helpful and understanding. The house is spectacular and the surroundings are beautiful. We loved our stay and would recommend Mas Sunyer to anyone.

Summary: Beautiful house with a lot of space for groups or families who stay together. Everything you need for a holiday stay is in the house. Well equiped kitchen, nice swimingpool, several spaces in- and outside to enjoy your meals and drinks. It is half an hour drive from Figueres and about 50 minutes from the coast. We really enjoyed our stay in this house.

Summary: Mas Sunyer took our breath away - it was everything we hoped it would be and more!! First off, Susanne was the most lovely host - we had great communication prior to the stay and received a warm welcome. She was very thoughtful in considering our needs (a small baby and an elderly dog) - her recommendation of utilizing Casa Flors was beyond perfect for us (no stairs and lots of shade)! Her partner Beto was helpful in escorting my husband to the market as well as fixing a small toilet problem for us. They were incredibly accommodating - two high chairs were ready for us, helped set up the baby bed, AND they even had a dog bed for our pup to snuggle into! Everything in Casa Flors was modern, spacious, and clean. Very comfortable with plenty of space. Large fridge and good kitchen appliances, however the dishwasher and washing machine are not part of this apartment - bit of a hassle but easy enough to head to the main house for our needs. The pool is pristine with the most spectacular views. The grounds are vast, filled with beautiful flora and fauna. We also enjoyed the barbecue, playing boules, and overall the serenity of being away from the rest of the world! We didn't want our time to end at Mas Sunyer and we wished we could have stayed longer!!

Summary: My partner and I decided to make an escape to this beautiful masía not knowing what to expect other than peace and quite in the madness times we are living in due to the Covid-19. What we found was a little paradise. We had the whole place for ourselves and it was amazing. The hosts, who live on site, were very nice and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed and privacy. We will most definitely go back. Thank you so much for the great hospitality, Susanne and Beto.

Summary: huge place. lovely caretaker Susanne who was very helpful with everything we needed during the week. the whole house could do with an update - very old bathrooms and furnishings made it quite dated. Would prefer normal rectangular pillows (not the sausage rolls that they have currently) and a nice light quilt rather than sheet and blanket. There was only 1 toilet roll in the bathroom and no soap at all by the handbasins in more than half the rooms (the rest are not ensuite anyway) and I think at the price paid Things like soap, loo roll and linen should be provided as part of the rental (linen was cahrged as extra). The outdoor kitchen is great but the main kitchen needs a bit of an update, it is well equipped but has an ancient dishwasher and an oven on which the door has to be wedged closed with a chair as it doesnt stay shut. The lovely setting, spacious dining and seating areas and the helpful freindly caretaker made this a pleasant week but I dont feel it was great value for money for 11 of us (probably a different story if there are 20 or 30 of you).
