Positive: The place is beautiful but it has several drawbacks. By being in the wild, you cannot take a walk. So I felt confined as I am used to wandering around. You can hire a guide but it's not the same. The main building is comfortable and elegant but very dark and many nights I was the ony person there. The food is all wrong. They serve what they think Europeans like (which is very hospitable of them) but you get huge piles of salad or steaks, or goat meat. I don't eat meat and I eat small portions. The eggs are flattened and fried in oil. The pumpkin soup was fantastic and I ate that every day as I was there several days. The cabin was lovely, clean and comfortable with a great view from the veranda but it was rather chilly this time of year. A male baboon came to visit me several times and looked in through the veranda door. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful but then I found all Kenyans to be very gentle kind and polite. The best way to enjoy this place is to come for a couple of days and book some hikes with the local Masai guide to see the wildlife and learn about the environment. I was there because my grandsons were at the Mara and I was waiting for them so I just wanted a place to chill out but would have preferred a place where one can walk around freely.
Negative: The main building is very dark in the evening and many evenings I was the only one there. The food was probably good for some target clients but it is all wrong for the average Euro-american.
Summary: Beautiful Place, great view, but a bit confining

Positive: The views to the River, nice swimming pool, very large space and privacy in the rooms.
Negative: Very old amenities. Uncleaned ceilings with lizards walking the whole apartment. No telephone landlines in rooms to contact the Receiption. The WiFi is not reliable. No gym for exercises. They have a limited menu for means; dinner and lunch. No shuttle to drop and pick up guests at the hotel given that itโ€™s very far from the nearest town, you have to order an uber and wait like 30 minutes to get to you and have to at double price given itโ€™s remoteness.
Summary: No value for money for someone looking for an exciting safari lodge.
