Summary: I have seen the Matrix around for years but never had the opportunity to stay there. WHAT A MISTAKE. The Matrix is now officially my favorite hotel in Edmonton. The location is ideal, close to downtown while still in a beautiful and quiet area. The check-in and check-out process were quick and easy, with amazing interactions with staff at every point. The room was clean and modern, the bed was great and the water pressure in the bathroom was UNREAL. 10/10 would recommend.

Summary: Had an extended stay at the hotel and it was great. The staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant food was delicious and rooms are nice and clean. The area is close to lots of restaurants and a grocery store which was very convenient. The legislature down the street, my stay included my two dogs which offered a great place to walk around. I would definitely come back.

Summary: Great location in the center of town, lots of food options nearby. We walked everywhere, only using an Uber once in addition to the airport Uber. The platinum suite was cozy with an active fireplace (in June) plus A/C and two big screen TVs with cable tv - no Chromecast or Netflix to log into :(

Summary: One of our favorite hotels and I usually book direct with the hotel. This time I booked through hotels and I did not receive complimentary parking or breakfast. When I spoke to the front desk, they provided me with complimentary parking but not breakfast. We did receive a room upgrade though so all was not lost.

Summary: We booked this very expensive hotel thinking we would get a wonderful beautiful room. What we got was a cramped tiny space barely big enough for two people. It was like the room was made for one person. A king-sized bed, but amenities for one. Not enough towels for two people, one bathrobe, and we had to ask for more coffee almost as soon as we got in the room. The bathroom was dirty and we had no bathmat causing us to use a towel then having to share a towel because of this. I am so deeply disappointed that we spent $600 on this room and then we were required to spend $40 to get the buffet breakfast they offered. Parking was a joke. The only good thing about this hotel was the tiny garden area attached to a Starbucks. If you are thinking of spending big money on a room at the Matrix I would sincerely reconsider.
