Positive: Good location, practically in the center of San Ignacio. Walking distance to the bus station, to the farmers market, to local tour companies offices, to food places, cafes. Very good for backpackers interested in Mayan ruins, hiking and cave tubing. Mayan complex Cahal Pech is just 1 km away from Matus Guest house. Xunantunich - 10 km away, Caracol - 75 km, good new road. Another plus for Matus place - they rent cars. Nice impression from the front desk girl Delmy. Don't worry if you need to get up early for your tour, the neighbors gorgeous rooster with his mighty voice will make sure you are awake before sunrise!

Positive: The landlord was friendly and provided us with valuable local information related to obtaining cheap taxi rides to Benque or the border with Guatemala, it saved us atleast an hour. The room is exactly as the photos provided on the site. It was clean and tidy. Wifi reception was excellent. There are quite a few eateries and pubs around withing 300-500 meters. Cahal Pech Archeological Site is around 1km from this location. Sufficient clothes hangars provided.
Negative: The room gets hot if the fan provided in the room is not running. The ceiling fan speed cannot be increased. The air from fan doesn't reach the bed lying parallel to the bathroom. The electric socket next to the bed doesn't provide enough power to rin the fan. Got a bit noisy on Saturday night from all the party/pun goers. If you need to power multiple devices at the same time, have an extension handy.

Positive: I loved the nice, quiet and clean room. It was very comfortable and quite well equipped. The bed sheets were very clean and the bed was comfortable. Outside the room was a terrace balcony, so I could have a last cold drink in the evening breeze before I went to bed.
