Summary: The house is beautifully decorated, and in a great location for walking to the two nearby coves (seals, otters!), and a base for exploring the many bays, points and trails on the island. The cabin feels peaceful, quiet, and immersed in nature. It's a fun family spot, and we enjoyed the games (indoor and outdoor) that were at the house. The bbq and outdoor table were perfect for enjoying dinners outdoors every night. Hosts were courteous and prompt at corresponding.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Mayne Island and our stay in "Millie". The old house was the perfect atmosphere to take a break from our busy lives to enjoy nature and family. We loved the proximity to David's Cove and Campbell Bay as well as the hike to Edith Point. The books and boardgames made for enjoyable evenings. It was a wonderful family vacation.

Summary: Our family stayed a week and we enjoyed it immensely! Lots of room, character of the house was lovely, and especially that it was a heritage house saved from demolition to be put to good use elsewhere. It was great for kids, both the indoors (games) and outdoors (space to run and play), with really everything we needed including the lack of TV! The area was peaceful and deer were frequent visitors. There were easy hikes nearby, each day was a different opportunity to explore various beaches that were either a short walk away or a short drive – along with some nice shops and parks. The Japanese Gardens was particularly inspiring. We would highly recommend this historic cottage house.

Summary: We stayed a week and had the most wonderful time. Sweetly decorated, we felt at home straight away. Steps from the beach, we went swimming every day. We did 2 marvelous hikes and had supper at the outside table while deer and fawns nibbled the dandelions from the front lawn. What a fabulous little retreat. Highly recommend.

Summary: I spend a week of bliss at Millie on Mayne Island - enjoying feeling like I was back in time, to an era where things moved slower and people spent more time being present rather than hooked into electronic devices all the time. The thing I enjoyed the most about being at Millie was the little porch in the front - I spent most of my days painting while listening to the trees and the birds while my little cocker spaniel watched the front yard with care, always monitoring the environment for deer, squirrels, birds or butterflies. I loved this place! The second thing I enjoyed the most was the master bedroom and how the morning sun will come in between the trees and through the delicate curtains and land on the bed, ever so tender and feminine. Loved that moment every morning! I will miss you Millie! Thanks!

Summary: This cottage is in a fantastic location. There is a lovely walk out Edith Point. Campbell Bay is a short, 10-15 minute, walk away for swimming or exploring the sandstone rocks. As well, we enjoyed swimming and putting the kayaks in at David’s Cove, one minute walk away. Deer, seals, eagles and other birds were daily sightings. Overall, the cottage felt homey and full of character. The bedrooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked well for us, streaming on multiple devices. We enjoyed eating dinners outside on the outdoor dining set. The ample front yard provided by the hollow allowed ample space for physical games with our teenaged boys. Although there are other cottages nearby, it was quiet and private. Our hosts were easy to reach and accommodating.
