Summary: We absolutely loved our stay at the castle. It was something different that our kids have never experienced before. Our communication with the owners was easy and helpful. The area is very relaxing and we hiked and biked each day. The kids even got to meet their chickens. Anytime we had questions, or needed any help? The response time was within minutes. Our four kids will be talking about this place for a while! Thank you.

Summary: I can't say enough positive things about our experience at the Lleas Castle. The communication with Marc before our trip was excellent. He answered all of our questions in a timely manner and provided lots of information to make our trip perfect. Upon arrival, Marc greeted us with his super sweet dog, Dora, and provided us with "the keys to the castle" which was so cool. The castle was just as we though it would be. The castle grounds were so interesting as well- the church, tiny cemetery & courtyard were picture perfect. The views from our balcony of the mountains with the dogs protecting their herd of sheep, the sounds of the birds and the bells on the sheep were literally something out of movie. Absolutely amazing! During our stay, we hiked to the Panteo from the Castle which was full of history. We drove to the restaurant, La Cabanya Del Mir, parked and hiked Salt del Mir. Highly recommend this! Beautiful hike with an amazing waterfall. We dined at the hostel down the street with Xavi. It was an amazing experience as well. We ate by a fire, listened to him play guitar and got a tour of the hostel. We grabbed coffee from a cute place in Santa Maria twice and the kids played on a playground there. All of the reviews say this and it is true, I wish we had stayed longer. We would have liked to hike to the caves from the castle. We would have liked to hike the other local waterfalls. And we would have liked to have visited the volcanos and done a hot air ballon ride over the mountains. Upon leaving we stoped at Besalu & Girona, which could have been day trips from the castle (however we were on our way to Costa Brava area). All in all, I can not say enough positive things about this experience. If you want something different, secluded and out of a fairytale book, this is your place! Thank you again Marc & Ginny for opening up your castle to us.

Summary: We had the most wonderful friend getaway weekend here! Impeccably clean and well-maintained castle with incredible personality. The terrace views were a highlight. The perfect place if you're looking for a great place to soak up history and nature or a launch pad for beautiful hikes. Marc and Ginny were wonderful- easy to communicate with, friendly, and always available to help or provide info as needed. Can't recommend this experience enough!

Summary: If you like the country side, and cozy, wonderful and magical place, stay here. The rooms , the kitchen, living room and the furniture make you feel like a princes.

Summary: If you want to stay in an authentic 10th century castle, this is place is worth renting for a couple of days. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the road is; it’s concrete most of the way and only the last mile or less is a very narrow dirt road. The castle is impressive in its antiquity and also in how updated it is. The rooms are furnished with antiques and the bathrooms and kitchen are updated and very functional. The beds are reasonably comfortable and there are plenty of sofas and a large dining table. My husband and I stayed in the Tower apartment and the biggest asset is the balcony with its sweeping view, which is adjacent to the kitchen. There were a few drawbacks: - We assumed the tower bedroom would be cool but unfortunately there was no evening breeze at all when we were there at the end of July and the room was very warm. - Although the place was impeccably clean, we had a lot of flies in the kitchen area and the tower bedroom which was above the kitchen. - During the afternoon and evening the castle was incredibly quiet and peaceful but in the middle of the night the neighbor’s dogs barked at something for quite a long while. Marc, the owner, is very responsive and helpful, and his hospitality and competence with English is another big positive in staying in this special location.
