2 Bedroom Cottage in Chissay-en-Touraine

In Chissay en Touraine, we offer our comfortable accommodation, an independent house, of medieval origin, marked by a strong history, built against the hill, for 4 people. Restored, furnished with objects found at the mercy of flea markets (one of the passions of the mistress of the place) and therefore decorated with a little spirit of yesteryear: It consists on the ground floor, of an entrance, a living room, a kitchen / dining room of 31m² with a dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, oven, microwave oven, toaster etc ..., a separate toilet, a bathroom with a large shower and counter with 2 sinks.
Upstairs, a bedroom of 21m² with 1 bed of 160 cm and another bedroom with 2 beds of 90.
We provide two garden furniture, parasol, deckchairs. A closed shelter is available for bikes or other. Your vehicle can be put in a garage. The property is closed.
On the practical side, we provide sheets, towels, kitchen and drugstore products (washing up liquid, sponge, toilet paper ..). Depending on your needs, you can have a travel cot up to 3 years old (baby linen is not provided) and a baby highchair and a bathtub.
Our animal friends are not accepted.
Electricity and heating are extra, depending on the season (3 to 5 € / day)
A cleaning fee of 40 € is required at the end of the stay.
10 € / day for an additional child (0 to 7 years old) beyond 4 people
Located 2 km from Montrichard, you will have all the amenities at your disposal: restaurants, cinema, doctors, all shops, Friday market ... For your stay you will find all the diversity that Touraine can offer.

Summary: Exactly what we wanted for a rural break in the Loire/Cher area. The property was everything that we could need. A very happy and relaxing place and lovely sitting on the terrace in the evening sun. Stephanie was extremely helpful and friendly.

Summary: Overall we enjoyed our stay here with a very warm welcome from Stephanie. However, for elderly couples the staircase at night to access the bathroom was a bit precarious. So too, was the sloping brick floor in the main bedroom. The bathroom was really nice and the shower very good. We were very pleased to have a lot of modern appliances in the kitchen but I could not find anywhere to hang my washing so had to improvise with a broom and coat hangers. Thank you Stephanie for the bottle of red wine it was very kind of you. We wish you well in the future.

Summary: Wonderful spacious and well-equipped gite with character. Balcony off the kitchen offers a lovely elevated view for enjoying meals or relaxing outside. In a quiet location within easy distance to the river Le Cher, Amboise and Montrichard, and fine dining lunch at the nearby Château Chissay. Stephanie was truly welcoming, kind and helpful, and particularly proud of her tastefully decorated gite for guests to enjoy. We (a couple) stayed eight nights and enjoyed the ample space the gite offers. Thank you Stephanie.

Summary: We stayed at this house for just under 2 weeks, and we loved it, it felt like home. Our first impression of the house when we pulled up was very good, and when we walked inside it more than lived up to what we expected! The area it is situated in is fantastic, being in-between several large towns/cities transport link wise, so gives you a good base and is so close to the zoo and aquarium! We would happily stay here again!

Summary: The house had everything we needed for a week, and the patio was the perfect place to while away an evening with a glass of the local white. Stephanie left us eggs and wine as a welcoming gift, which was a lovely touch. The house was the perfect base from which to explore the Loire and the nearby chateaux. Chenonceaux was delightful and the garden exhibitions at Chaumont were well worth a visit as well.

Summary: We have just returned from a lovely week at this beautiful house in Chissay. Stephanie is a very accommodating and friendly host, and her house is decorated with exceptional style. Beds, sofas etc are very comfortable, all the amenities work perfectly, including the best shower in the world...ever. The house sits in a quiet position on the outside of this peaceful little village. Unfortunately there's not much going on in the village for food etc other than the high brow Chateau which i'm sure is great if you like that kind of thing, however nearby Montrichard (2-3km away) offers else everything you could want including supermarkets, fuel and plenty of restaurants. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby vineyards and caves and is within easy reach of more chateau than you could possibly visit. If cycling is your thing, the area offers near perfect road surfaces and trails. There are a number of signposted routes that pass either straight through or nearby the village. Our only regret is that we didn't have longer than a week, because it was never enough. One day we hope to go back to the area and we would not hesitate to stay at this lovely house again. We would certainly recommend it to others.
