Looking for a quiet, private getaway? Welcome to Melody Lake! This is a cozy 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home located in a private community in Forestburgh, NY. You are a 3 minute walk to a very small non-motorized private lake. This lake is conducive to boating, kayaking, however, not for swimming. You are an 8 minute drive to the Casino at Resorts World Catskills, a 25 minute drive to Bethel Woods and are surrounded by local lakes, rivers and hunting grounds to meet your wildlife desires. There are also excellent restaurants in the area (within 15 mins). Upon your booking you will have access to a binder with information of the local attractions.
We provide all of the home essentials you may need so you will feel right at home. This includes:
- Heating: Pellet Stove and space heaters for each bedroom
- Cooling: Portable A/C Unit
- Linens, towels, soap, shampoo, paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags
- Cookware, silverware, dishes, spices, oil, Keurig w/ Kcups
- Dishwasher, microwave, toaster, electric stove, full size refrigerator and freezer
- Washer/Dryer with detergent
- Gas Grill on the deck with outdoor seating
Each bedroom contains a queen size bed. Each bedroom has a dresser for clothing storage.
The neighborhood is very quiet. Many of the locals use these homes as Summer homes. However, you will be next door to some very friendly people who live here year round.
Be aware, the house sits on a corner lot. The address is Hemlock Drive, however the home faces Hickory Lane. This can be confusing when arriving at night.
You will have access to a 12 ft. rowboat with oars. This will be located down by the lake.

Summary: Only needed a place to rest our heads for 1 night and so glad that we found this place. House was conveniently located for us and Dave was very accommodating. He even had the house nice and warm for our arrival on a cold NY night. House was clean and everything you needed for a stay was provided.

Summary: We love to go to concerts at Bethal Woods, but it's a long drive home that late at night. Found this great little house 20 minutes from the venue. It was perfect! Very clean, quiet neighborhood with everything you need for a comfortable night. I would book again for the next concert or if I'm in this part of New York.

Summary: We loved this welcoming mountain bungalow. There were no surprises. The photos showed the accommodations just as they are. The location was perfect for hiking in the Neversink River Unique area and local sightseeing. The pellet stove kept us cozy during our entire stay. Host welcomed us with a delicious pie and responded promptly to a concern we raised the first evening. We would definitely return if the opportunity arises. PS - Be sure to check out the Monticello Bagel Bakery!

Summary: This house was perfect for our needs - 2 close friends who wanted a girls' getaway for R&R, catching up, and enjoying each other's company while partaking in activities in and around Monticello. It was very clean, well equipped/supplied and relaxing. The open layout was great as was the patio; blessed with a warm night we had dinner on the patio before hanging out and chatting in the warm and inviting living area for hours! We could have comfortably stayed longer (and wish we had the time to do so). The owner was awesome. He was easy to reach, very responsive and accommodating to our needs. Thank you! I would recommend this house for couples, small families or a few close friends. I will definitely book this house again when I return to the area.
