Positive: Location was good for us, somewhat close to airport, zoo & showgrounds.

Negative: Bed was very firm, but it wasn't too much of a bother. Entrance to apartments had a heavy cigarette odor.

Positive: The receptionist/lady who owned the property was lovely! The location was good for what we needed and was overall pretty comfy and had what we needed also.

Negative: Only thing we weren’t a fan of was the mattress as it was a bit hard and we woke up sore but everyone sleeps different and she can’t help that. Good otherwise

Positive: Location is really close to tram stop, so getting into CBD is easy. Nice quite neighbourhood even though not far from a busy road. Room was clean and had everything we needed. We arrived late and the manager met us at the door. Very friendly and helpful service.

Positive: Melrose is perfectly situated for travel within the city by tram, it is quiet, welcoming and exceptionally clean.

Negative: Sadly the website does not elaborate on the amenity of ‘parking’ which is very much a matter of trying your luck on the road outside. Yes, there are four and two hour spaces but they are often full as you are close to public housing towers.

Summary: Leave the car at home and it is PERFECT.

Positive: Terrific value for money, beautifully clean, balcony for fresh air, close to worksite and the biggest bonus was that free parking was readily available in the surrounding streets over the course of the weekend (for two cars).

Negative: It would have been nice to have a wine glass to wind down at the end of the day. The crockery/glassware/cutlery is most definitely at a minimum. This was the second time we stayed here and unfortunately the door to the balcony in the apartment we had this second time didn't lock (would have been a greater comfort to know that this could be locked, particularly overnight, though I should add that we were on the top floor so it wasn't too big an issue).

Summary: Great, affordable, clean and convenient place to stay - we will use again.
