Positive: Comfortable bed, nice clean room, good central location. staff were extremely good and friendly, breakfast was prompt and the food (hot) was cooked to my liking. Just as important as anything else, is the overall feel of the place, steeped in history....an old catholic school with attached church (de-consecrated)...all very interesting

Negative: Slight hiccup with room to start off with....not made up, but was promptly remedied by the Manager, who was not only overseeing staff etc, but the motel/hotel has been undergoing large renovations. Very busy man, but nothing was too much trouble

Summary: I have stayed there before many times as well as other establishments, andalways choose Monte Pio

Negative: Bed n pillow uncomfortable, bed was hard n pillows uncomfortable. You sleep on the bed and not in the bed. Room is still bright with lights off, after long drive you need the room darker
