Positive: Well appointed for longer stays, including washer/dryer combo, clothes rack, a big living room with long table and a lot of chairs for gathering. Air conditioning in each room was a huge PLUS, especially during the historic heat wave. Located less than 5min from at least 3 different Metro stations (Lines 1, 5, 8 via Bastille and Line 7 via Sully-Morland). The neighborhood is very lively and has a lot of wonderful restaurants, bistros, and bars. If you need to do bulk laundry, there is a self-service laundry 2 minutes from the property (search Laverie on google maps).

Negative: Lack of ventilation from the bathrooms meant stinky hallways. Being on a low floor meant a lot of street noise, even at night (depends on what's going on in the neighborhood). Shaky, uneven and dark stairs could be challenging for certain travelers, especially when transporting luggage. The dryer in the combo washer/dryer is not so effective and will leave your clothes very wrinkled. See recommendation above to use the nearby self-service laundry, at least to dry your clothes but also for larger loads.

Summary: Great location for long stays with large groups. Needs toilet ventilation or bring poo-pourri :)

Positive: Great location, cafe just below, plenty of great restaurants surrounding apt. Easy walk to all of Le Marais, Notre Dame, Isle of St Louie. Has a dishwasher & washer/dryer combo in kitchen. Two bathrooms accessible by all, one is just a w/c & sink far end of the hall, the other a shower & w/c just outside the 1st bedroom (which is the blue room, biggest/nicest room). Bedroom 2 has a bathtub & sink in the room, bedroom 3 has a private full en-suite bathroom, bedroom 4 is the smallest room, has to share the 2 hallway bathrooms.

Negative: Lockbox was a little hard to open at first but we eventually got it. Stairs are steep/uneven- but it’s only 15 steps up to the door. Pack light! Couch is not very comfortable, only 2 people fit comfortably & cushions kept sliding off- but there are plenty of chairs and we weren’t in the apartment enough to care about lounging. No issues, apartment & location was great.

Positive: This review is of the other property we were offered just two days before we were supposed to stay at this one. It was in the Republique area with similar amenities. As I was heart broken to receive the message that due to "exceptional circumstances" we were not able to stay at Antoine 1, we had no choice but to accept the offer from Merveil to stay at the Republique property with our two families. I thank them for this solution so that we did not have to scramble to find another accommodation for our first visit to Paris. We stayed in a 5 bedroom "4" bathroom property. The property had 2 toilets, 2 showers, and one bathtub. The apartment was comfortable and clean and close to the metro and many shops. My biggest complaint is the noise. The apartment above made so much noise most hours throughout the night. At times, it sounded like they were dragging furniture. I slept in the room with the biggest bed away from the street. You can feel the metro underneath the street while lying in bed, but that did not bother me. If you are a light sleeper like me, earplugs may be a good idea or skip this place altogether. I could not wear earplugs as I have young children I needed to be alert for. The location is my other complaint. It is at a very busy intersection with lots of traffic, horns honking, and sirens that could be heard from the street facing rooms during the night. If noise is not an issue for you, this apartment is great. It is a beautiful place, and we enjoyed the stay despite my sleeping issues.

Negative: The apartment was missing a minor utensil like a wine bottle opener, but everything else was great.
