Are you seeking the “real Maine'' far from crowded summer tourist spots, traffic jams and tee shirt shops? Then our newly remodeled Milbridge Farmhouse is for you!
Follow the rolling meadows and forests on the Kansas Road in Milbridge as it travels along the Narraguagus River on its way to the nearby sea. Its three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and open concept floor plan provide the perfect space for a family of 4 to enjoy a relaxing and memorable vacation. The house is 100% solar powered.
An expansive wrap-around front porch, in addition to a screened-in porch overlooking the grassy back pasture, offers the opportunity for comfortable outdoor dining or relaxing, no matter what the weather.
You’ll find our modern kitchen is a joy for preparing meals with family and friends. Up to date appliances, plenty of counter space, and abundant serviceware make kitchen duty fun!
All three bedrooms are equipped with new mattresses, fresh linens and attractive blankets and comforters. Windows open for evening breezes and country-style curtains soften the morning light. The primary bedroom on the first floor has its own private porch for enjoying morning coffee. Chances are that if you’re quiet, you’ll catch sight of grazing deer in the pasture, especially near dawn or dusk. This home accommodates 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. In some cases, an extra person can be accommodated for a fee. Please inquire.
Contemporary bathroom fixtures, designer tiles, a soaking tub and a stocked laundry with a washer and dryer accommodate the second floor bedrooms. The primary bedroom suite on the first floor has a designer shower (no tub).
The living room flows from the dining room table with no walls to separate the two areas, enhancing dining buffet style. A large flat screen TV will stream your favorite entertainment, and comfortable upholstered furniture accommodates the whole family.
If you are an art aficionado, you’ll appreciate the original paintings, photography and prints that are on display throughout the house. Asian wool carpets bring color and warmth to the home as well.
May we suggest that you venture north on Route 1 for sightseeing along authentic small fishing villages and wild blueberry fields. Stop in at Helen’s in Machias for their blueberry cream pie, take a hike along the cliffs in the Bold Coast State Park, venture on further to Eastport, the terminus of U.S 1. and see the deepest port on the Eastern Seaboard with a natural depth of 65 feet! While there, visit Campobello, FDR’s summer home and now an international park. There’s lots to see and do nearby for the adventuresome, nature loving family. Milbridge Commons Park is minutes away from our home. The park offers a children's playground, picnic tables, gardens, a walking trail and lovely sweeping views!

Summary: We LOVED our time at this location! The house is clean, just the perfect size, and has everything we possibly could have thought of. The town of Milbridge is small but welcoming, and the rental is only an hour from so many things to do in Bar Harbor and Acadia. The host was so considerate and very easily reachable and ver accommodating. We got to relax and enjoy our time in Maine without the hustle and bustle of the larger towns around. There was a good amount of wildlife in the backyard and the backyard was a perfect front row seat to the meteor shower. Would definitely love to return to this location for a future vacation!

Summary: The house is beautiful! So peaceful and relaxing. My family enjoyed our stay. My children enjoyed the large backyard. They even had the pleasure of a deer running across the yard behind them as they were practicing their cartwheels. We were able to see a few more deer on the property during our stay. We didn’t want to leave!

Summary: Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. The house was beautiful and had all of the essentials we needed. The host had the lights on for us as we arrived in the evening and also coconut crème cookies from Raven’s Nest were waiting in the kitchen which was a thoughtful gesture. The yard was big & beautiful and my husband and son enjoyed throwing the football out there in the early evenings. We saw deer almost every morning or evening and also loved watching the fireflies and stars at night. This was our 4th trip to the area and first at this home and we would definitely go back. It’s close to some great little hiking trails and only about an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park- we like to stay in smaller towns away from all of the traffic and chaos, but close and convenient enough to go into the park and BH. It’s also less than 30 minutes to Schoodic Pointe and Winter Harbor. We love eating at The Pickled Wrinkle after hiking and The Treehouse for finer dining. Thanks for a great stay!

Summary: Impeccably clean, rural, quiet updated farmhouse. Wildlife was everywhere morning and evening. The home is central to many hiking preserves and to the National park, not to mention its delightful proximity to many charming small Maine towns.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in Millbridge while we visited family in winter harbor. We were the second people to stay at the farmhouse and we absolutely loved it. My first morning there I couldn’t find a microwave. I have two sets of twins and I’m Constantly having to warm over my coffee because I never get to drink it in one sitting. When I contacted the host, they informed me that the owner had not yet placed a microwave in the home but they were glad to hear feedback from Us. The next thing I know, a microwave was delivered to our doorstep. They took such good care of us!! They also answered any questions I had right away.

Summary: Walk in and there was a nice note and a gift basket. Everything was so clean. Towels so soft. They had coffee and laundry detergent. Had a grill that was great to use! Had plenty of room for our family! Had a great family time!
