Positive: Well equipped kitchen .. Beds comfortable Bathroom clean , tidy
Negative: Very poor lighting in the bedroom and lounge . Unable to see in the bedroom at night to read or to put any make up on . Smell in the hall area .. like ‘wet dog’ not sure … bought candles and air fresheners . Smell downstairs toilet , damp fusty .. damp flooring ! No comfortable seating for outside .. Information provided for places to eat .. probs won the host a free pint for recommending the local pub .. for us over £100 down and basically heated up frozen convenience food , basic .. dogs running around near the dining area, hygiene not a concern! Location - must have a car .. very limited bus service , no activities

Positive: Very quiet location. Good off road parking. Close to reservoir. Kitchen and dining area nice. Everything you needed for cooking.
Negative: Strong smell of heating oil in utility. Sitting out area could have been tidier and more comfortable seating. More than one tea towel needed for our 4 day stay.
Summary: Complete relaxation. Value for money.

Positive: You could tell that the owners have put a lot of thought and hard work into the design and comfort of Mills Croft. It was a home away from home. It had everything that we needed. Added bonus was a toilet downstairs. It’s roomy, but still cosy, modern but still in keeping with the cottage feel. We didn’t want to go home.

Positive: Comfortable accommodation in a stunning location. Everything was there for self-catering (although we did very little of that), the walk to The Red Lion was great for their first class Sunday lunch and the Knockerdown Inn, a longer walk, was lovely for their fish and chip special on Saturday and so good we returned after an afternoon in Ashbourne and Carsington Water, for dinner Saturday night. Communication with the hosts was excellent, access was by key safe but the hosts lived next door and quickly dealt with out only issue which was towels missing from the smallest bedroom.
Negative: The chilly weather currently in the entire UK totally out of anyone's control AND the pothole on the Derbyshire road that caused me a blowout and a lengthy wait for recovery - again out of most peoples control except Derbyshire Council to which it has been reported.
Summary: Perfect accommodation in a stunning location.

Positive: Lovely 3 bedroom recently renovated house. Has off street parking. Walking distance to Carsington water. Also lovely pub 2mins up the road called the Red Lion. Lovely food and good atmosphere- clearly where the locals go. Owner let us check out couple hours later as no one coming in after us. Much appreciated. Would definitely love to return. Highly recommend.
