Summary: I rented this property for me and two of my sisters, and our five kids. Overall, we enjoyed our stay- Krystal helped point us towards a local ferry ride to Bar Harbor which was a huge highlight. The house was clean overall, and Krystal was very friendly, But, we encountered some unexpected difficulties, of which I’d like to point out that Krystal has told me she is fixing at this time. We found we could not use or drink the water in the house, it was coming out brown/black from the faucets and shower. With 5 kids going to beach for three days, no water or baths or cooking water was a huge pain… we ended up buying lots of gallons of water at a local store. I had a lot of difficulties getting the tvs to work, they have a somewhat confusing system. Eventually I figured out one of the TVs in the downstairs but the screen was still not right (tinted blue), so this was a big pain with 5 kids begging for cartoons in the morning and before bed. We had to spend a half hour working on a problem with the grill for it to work(there was a clog) which was a big pain right as we were preparing dinner for everyone, but we did get it working. Overall, we had a nice stay but the relaxation I was desperate to find was not to be had. I do believe Krystal is fixing these issues, so I think this will be a nice rental for families in the future,

Summary: We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Schoodic Point is right up the road and has amazing views and hikes. Not to mention, much less crowded than Mount Desert Island (which is also beautiful but LOTS of people and difficult to find parking). The lobster dinner provided by the hosts was spectacular and really added a special touch to our trip. Only downsides were only one bathroom downstairs and having to go through one bedroom to get to the third bedroom. It worked for my family of four but had my parents with me and it was a challenge for them. Would still highly recommend this place though!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at Winter Harbor- Very close to the beautiful Schoodic Pennisula! Only downside is that while we were there the ferries to Acadia were closed because of fog, so unfortunately did have to drive over to Acadia (about an hour drive).

Summary: We enjoyed our weekend at the house. However, we were a group of 3 middle-aged couples, & the bedrooms aren’t very private. 1 is an open loft which you have to walk through to get to the next bedroom. Then you have to walk through the 2nd bedroom to get to the 3rd bedroom. The house was very clean & in a great location. The beach across the street is now marked as “Private Property”, & we didn’t find any accessible beach within walking distance. However, we did drive to Schoodic Point just down the road to sit on the rocks & watch the ocean, & there were lots of hiking and biking trails there. Some great restaurants (recommended by the host) were close by for meals. All in all, we enjoyed the stay.

Summary: Our family loved our stay here. Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia while being far enough away from all the super touristy stuff. Kids loved their rooms (and the treadmill!). Right down the street from a number of great places to eat, as well as the underrated bit of Acadia on the Schoodic Peninsula. Would definitely stay here again.

Summary: A lot of positives with this property. It fit 6 of us comfortably. The beds were nice. One bathroom is a drawback. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. It’s close to the park and close enough to restaurants and the water to enjoy both. The real draw are the hosts. Extremely responsive to self-induced and incidental issues. We were treated to some fresh lobster with full instructions as well for a minor inconvenience of the shower head needing replaced and a tv issue. We wish Maine itself had given us a little warmer and dryer weather for our trip, but this place was nice to come back to and clean up and relax. It’s decorated super cute, but due to being such an old house it has some unique parts. Nothing that would prevent us from staying there again if we ever go back to ME.

Summary: Loved the location, close to Bar Harbor and Arcadia National Park but more peaceful. My boys loved the private beach up the road and the beach floats provided. Make sure to plan meals as some local restaurants only serve lunch or close early. Would stay again if we return to the area.
