Positive: Spent only one night here, and disappointed not staying longer. Charming place beside a main road out of Aso. Attractive comfortable room with tea-making (ocha) facilities, sink and toilet. Shared external bath-house was very nice. Can bathe as couple/family.

Negative: Futon on tatami mat didn't provide enough padding.

Negative: Futons are a bit hard when you are not used to it.

Positive: It was cosy and comfortable. The food was lovely and the rooms clean.

Negative: The shower facilities were limited to a timing and if you’re sleeping in late, you wouldn’t be able to shower in the morning. But in the winter, I guess it’s not too bad because you don’t perspire much.

Positive: The staff speaks good English. The room is spacious and they served the small snack and green tea pack. The room got a toilet but we have to go the other building to have hot spring or bath. It is a good experience.

Negative: We have to bring the futon from the cupboard and place it on the floor by ourselves. Not sound proof but we are okay with it.

Positive: delicious meals including chuutoro tuna sashimi, grilled wagyu beef a real treat to have a private large onsen tub for couples all staff were friendly and helpful a short walk from the bus stop (from Kumamoto or Oita)

Negative: rooms were warm but the public areas were a bit cool in mid-winter

Positive: Excellent value for an onsen stay half board for a family of 4, enormous quantities of food , a private onsen , quite though next to a major road

Negative: Right next to a major thoroughfare for trucks in aso , lack of private bathroom facilities, tatami bed needs another layer of padding - could feel the floor in sleep , very helpful staff who kept feeding us .
