Positive: Location was lovely. The smile face against staff is for the Monks I didn't really see them but the one who showed me to my room was polite and nice and the church service I attended was also nice.

Negative: £80 a night....The whole feel was grubby. The breakfast room needs a deep clean everything felt dirty and you are left to it completely I never saw anyone. The toilet in my room had not been cleaned and the previous guest had clearly had an upset stomach. The water glasses still had water in one of them. Luckily I was only staying 2 nights. I also did not like I could not book a single room and had to have a double which cost more. There was only one other room being used while I was there. The single room was not occupied so I wonder if Booking.com is a manipulating the system.

Positive: Made very welcome when I arrived. Such a lovely room. It had everything I needed,even a hairdryer. I would definitely stay again.

Negative: A little difficult to find via satnav and once found it wasn't clear where reception was.

Negative: There was no one there when I arrived and had to ring bell and wait a while. I didn't see any staff which made it seem impersonal.

Positive: The breakfast was basic but very good. It was so calm & peaceful staying there, We did talk to Brother Jude a couple of times who was lovely. We went to mass at 8am on Sunday & took holy communion. Will definitely stay there again
