Summary:
Experience beauty inside and out at Camp Emerson. This modern cabin is part of Wilder's beautiful 40 acres and situated just 10 minutes from Hocking Hills State park. The property is nestled amongst the trees of our private woods, which is lined with hiking trails. It features a hot tub, king bed with luxury bedding, coffee/tea bar, and selection of board games. Come unwind, disconnect from distractions, and reconnect to what matters in the stillness and beauty of the wilderness.
The Space:
Step into "vintage camp nostalgia" and Americana design in Camp Emerson. This 450 sq ft space has a bedroom with a king bed and room darkening blinds, full bathroom with shower, and an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen space. Large windows in the living room and bedroom look out onto a private deck, hot tub, fire pit, and of course, the tranquil woods of Wilder. A 3 seater sofa pulls out into a queen bed in the living room to accommodate 2 more guests.
Camp Emerson was designed by Airbnb Super Host Diana Pasquali, whom herself has an amazing rental property in California (IG: @rockridgecasita). Diana's inspiration for Camp Emerson was an 100 year old sleep away camp she attended in Maine as a child.
Guest Access:
Entire modern cabin, deck, hot tub, private fire pit. 40 acres including trails shared by the rest of the Wilder collection of 10 cabins.
The Neighborhood:
Nestled on 40 acres in the rolling hills of Vinton County, OH, Wilder is close to it all while appearing to be a thousand miles away.
Off the property you'll find that Wilder is perfectly situated only 10-15 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park, Logan, Lake Hope, and Zaleski State Forest. Within these areas you'll find ample opportunity to enjoy the outdoors hiking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, bird watching, horse back trail riding, ATVing, zip lining, and more! It's a nature-lover's paradise and all located within a short drive of Wilder.
Other Things to Note:
We are in the process of getting Wi-Fi extended to all cabins.
We have limited cell reception. All carriers do receive signal at the ridge along the main path in our property, just steps away from the cabin. You can send and receive texts and calls there.
There is a charcoal grill on the deck, which you will need to bring charcoal for. We have grill tools supplied in the kitchen. We also have a fire pit, and wood on site near parking for $10 a bundle. All proceeds go to the Boy Scouts who supply our wood.
We do allow pets in this cabin for a $25 fee. We ask that they be kept off all furniture including the couch and have their own blanket/bed to sleep on.
Interaction with Guests:
Keyless entry with a unique code generated for each guest will be shared via text/email prior to your arrival.
Upon booking, and again 3 days prior to arrival you will receive a link to a digital guidebook with all of the information you'll need to have a great stay! The digital guidebook will include information on the cottage, property, nearby areas of interest, fun activities, and other helpful tips.

Summary: We had such a great weekend at the Wilder! The communication was amazing, and it was a great way to unplug from our day to day. The only things that I would share is that we were unaware that this was a handicap accessible cabin (made showering a little more difficult), but we could've missed it in the listing. Also, the trails on site were a little smaller than we expected, but still a great way to get moving during the day!

Summary: Overall, we loved our stay at Wilder! The listing says they have been working to get Wi-Fi so I messaged before booking to confirm whether they had Wi-Fi or not. They said they did have Wi-Fi now but just hadn’t updated the listing. We were fully expecting there to be Wi-Fi but when we arrived, there was not. We didn’t plan ahead with directions or anything so the first night was frustrating when we didn’t know where to go and had to figure it out without Wi-Fi or service. I messaged the host once we got back to where we had service and they provided the password but said it wasn’t working well. It ended up being nice to disconnect from life but would have been better had we known ahead of time so we could plan. Everything else was great! Very clean cabin with everything we needed for a quick stay.

Summary: This was our 2nd stay here, it won’t be our last. A private romantic getaway, close to all the things we love. Also appreciate that our dog is welcome and they have a few nearby trails we can walk her on.

Summary: Such a cute little cabin for a getaway. We found the kitchen to be especially great as the location is a little far from restaurants. Conveniently located for hiking in Hocking Hills though. Property was well maintained and quiet, and best of all, pet friendly. We enjoyed a relaxing couple of days with minimal cell reception.
