The Trout House is as close to Cumberland River as one can be. With many games and a kitchen stocked for those who like to cook, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy family time.
For those who want to fish, the cabin is only one lot over from the community boat ramp. Located on the trophy section of the river, the cabin easily accommodates a family or two or a group of friends with an open living room and kitchen.
The nearest grocery, liquor store, and dollar store are all about five minutes away.
For your entertainment, the cabin boasts an outdoor fire pit, foosball, and cornhole. More games are available in the unfinished basement—ping pong, shuffleboard, and darts! The unfinished basement is set up as game room but does have an extra fridge, a bathroom, and a commercial sink.
Granite countertops, handcrafted cabinetry, a Keurig with latte/cappuccino feature, and a standard coffee pot are part of the well-stocked kitchen. The indoor dining table has seating for 10. Three additional outdoor dining tables each seat six each.
The home was designed to enjoy the views of the river and has two screened-in porches, a large patio, and a deck, all facing the river. There is also plenty of parking if you’re bringing your boat for a day at the lake.
We’ve tried to furnish this home with everything that you need to relax. There’s even a record player with records and a guitar all waiting to be played!
If you’re looking for golf, hiking, or lake boating, the cabin is about 15 minutes from Dale Hollow State Park.
The closest marina to the cabin is Sulphur Creek Marina, and is less than 8 miles away. Sulphur Creek has pontoon rentals, outdoor lakeside dining, and generally offers live music on the weekends!

Summary: Our family stayed during “generational” flooding rain storms. But we still had a good time cooking together in the well equipped kitchen, having shuffleboard tournaments in the basement and spending time in front of the fireplace.

Summary: Our stay was wonderful! We were meeting our adult children and their pups to celebrate an early Christmas. The house was perfect with plenty of room. The main living area with the fireplace was nice in the evenings. The large dining table and fully stocked kitchen was wonderful for our Christmas Dinner! The table was also wonderful for fame nights! We had so much fun making use of the basement …lots of fun and laughs ! I can’t thank you enough for putting up a small tree and the decorations you put out for Christmas! We will definitely book again, but next time with warmer temps to enjoy the balcony and river! Even on those chilly morning it was beautiful to just look out at the river! Thank you for such a wonderful place !

Summary: My husband and I stayed here for his birthday. The quiet location, tranquility of the flowing river, the fully stocked kitchen, screened porches and all of the games made this an outstanding stay. We certainly plan to be back.

Summary: The communication with the host couldn’t have been better. Very quick response to questions & concerns. The house was wonderful. Clean, stocked with everything you could possibly want, plenty of room for our group of 4 adults and 2 large dogs. Would love to rebook and go back

Summary: The cabin was amazing, right on the river, lots of space and privacy. The kitchen was so well stocked! I’m so used to bringing my entire kitchen with me (I love to cook), not necessary here! It was clean, lots to do, games galore - the game room downstairs and corn hole was time well spent. We had several days on the river, a couple at Dale Hallow, and a day at Southern KY Distillery. Book Mammoth Cave in advance if that’s something you want to do. We wanted to go, but there was only one ticket by the time we tried to book. Highly recommend this cabin, and the owners were wonderful and responsive — 5/5!!

Summary: Had the best stay. House had everything you could think of. The river was chilly, but on those hot days, it was great. Dale hollow lake close. Would definitely be going back! Only suggestion, consider adding some stepping stones that lead from the stairs to the basement. Rocks aren't fun on the bare feet.

Summary: My daughters and I had the best time while staying here. The cabin is very close to several marinas and is FULL of games. I have a teenager and a seven year old and both had a blast enjoying the games that came with the cabin. Pictures don’t do the cabin justice.
