Dogwood is a charming rental property with heated swimming pool nestled within the woodlands near Lake Michigan in SW Michigan’s Harbor Country, just 70 miles from Chicago.

With a main house and detached guest house totaling 3,500 square feet of living space plus an expansive backyard with heated swimming pool & hot tub surrounded by forest, Dogwood is well-suited to large groups who want to disconnect a bit and experience the serenity of the natural world.
The main house’s communal space is anchored by a generously-sized living room with a wood-burning fireplace, home theater system, and multiple seating areas. Equipped with updated appliances, the beautifully remodeled kitchen connects to a large picturesque dining area surrounded by glass. The main house includes 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms on the second & third floors.
Located a few steps away, the cozy guest house provides an additional 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, plus a living room & eat-in kitchenette area.
Dogwood’s 1,800 square foot outdoor area includes a large heated swimming pool, wrap-around wood deck, hot tub, outdoor dining area with gas grill, outdoor ping-pong table, and fire pit. The property’s large backyard on the 2-acre lot creates an idyllic backdrop for outdoor activities of all kinds.
Dogwood’s slightly-off-the-beaten-path location is moments away from several nature preserves that are perfect for nature walks. Don’t miss the magnificent old-growth forest at Warren Woods State Park! It is a short drive to the pristine beaches of Lake Michigan, downtown Three Oaks, and the beach communities along Red Arrow Highway including Union Pier and New Buffalo.
Please note that by booking this property, all guests must agree to follow these house rules:
- The maximum capacity for the Dogwood house is 26 people. Under no circumstances are more than 26 people allowed on the property at any time.
- Must be at least 30 years old to book and the average guest age must be 30 or older.
- Quiet Hours from 10pm to 8am are strictly enforced. Absolutely no amplified equipment may be used outdoors other than the on-site A/V system.
- Events of any kind are prohibited at this property, no exceptions.
- No excessive noise, fireworks, or hunting allowed.
- No High School, Prom, College, or MBA groups.
- No smoking inside the house or on the property.
- The pool is typically open May 1-October 31, depending on the weather. Hot tubs are open all year!

Summary: What a beautiful modern farmhouse! Dogwood was perfectly suited for our family of 14 adults and 4 little ones. We LOVED spending our days in the warm saltwater pool, evenings around the campfire, and everyone slept great in the very comfortable beds! The entire home and property was IMMACULATE and set up so beautifully upon arrival - every room smelled fresh and clean and there were plenty of towels, pillows, blankets, and the kitchen had everything you needed. (We did bring our own electric griddle which we wanted for pancakes, and they didn’t have one) Jorge was very easy to communicate with when we had questions and he sent the maintenance crew over promptly to address a small issue we had. There were smiles on our faces the entire week-we couldn’t have been happier with our stay!

Summary: We have been renting Lake Michigan properties for nearly 10 years now. As our family has grown, so have our vacation needs. This property fills the bill! The pool is fabulous. Warm water and a perfect ledge for little ones. The outdoor space is equally great. We have young grandkids who played baseball, soccer, red rover, and tag for hours! The house is beautifully appointed and so clean. The table for 18 in the sunroom was a cherry on top! Also Dwell Vacations was the least intrusive, yet thorough management company we’ve worked with!

Summary: It was a great spot for our group of friends to stay together with our families. Between the pool and the lawn area, there were plenty of things to keep all ages busy. The fire pit surrounded by a canopy of trees was perfect for winding down at the end of the night.

Summary: We stayed at the Dogwood house Father’s Day weekend with four other families. We spent our days poolside having a great time and our nights were spent around the fire. We had such a great time there. Everybody enjoyed the house. It was well cleaned, and the property was well taken care of. If you’re lucky while you’re here, you might get to witness a summer storm like we did and get to watch the storm sitting on the front porch.

Summary: Dogwood is fast becoming our favorite family getaway spot. There’s abundant space, plenty of bathrooms, a kitchen where everyone gathers together. The pool was an incredible addition since our last visit and we enjoyed many lovely evenings making memories around the bonfire. Thank you!

Summary: We had a group of 17 stay for a wedding near Journeyman. Penny was amazing with communication from start to finish. She did not miss a question or request. House was clean, stocked and ready upon arrival. Check out was easy and quick. There are two bonfire pits with wood stocked up for the whole weekend. Pool with nice lounge chairs and umbrellas, hot tub near back patio. Two grills! Plenty of kitchen stuff for cooking. Would definitely rent another Dwell Vacation house!!!

Summary: What a beautiful property and layout ! Having a saltwater pool was so wonderful even our dog enjoyed it. Everything was as described in the listing. If you have a large group, especially a bunch of young families, this would be ideal. Plenty of beds ! For us having a two bedroom pool house was perfect for my in-laws. They had their own private space all on one level. Penny from Dwell management was very responsive. I can't say enough about that !!! so easy to work with.
