Summary: The property manager was great and you can tell the owners care deeply about the property. However, the listing didn't make it clear that this property is directly on the "Sand Bar", which for the most part isn't a big deal. However, the "Sand Bar" in July on a Saturday looks and sounds like a tailgate party, dozens of boats, loud music and people drinking, etc. For some this would be a great selling point but for others this may be an issue, so this should just be a bit more clear for those not familiar with the area.

Summary: We had our family of 6 (4 teens) over the 4th of July week. House is exactly as described. Loved having the extra bedroom and bathroom attached by breezeway. Kids enjoyed the main house while we had our own place. We rented a boat and were able to attach to mooring ball close to dock. Beach area was perfect. The house really has everything you can ask for.

Summary: Beautiful lake, great location close to the sandbar. Separate guest house bed/bath worked out perfectly with a baby in our group. The home had everything we needed and excellent communication with the property owner. We rented a pontoon and could park it at the house. We did day trips to Elk Rapids and Traverse City. Five stars!

Summary: Torch lake is like the Carribean without the hassle of travel outside of Michigan! The home was perfect for eight people! It was very clean and had all essentials you could need. Very nice sandy beach and chairs. Nice outdoor shower so we didn't track sand thoroughout the house. We would go back tomorrow.

Summary: Through VRBO we didn't ever receive any check in instructions sent to us. Once I downloaded another app which is the property management company I could then see check in instructions. We also never got check in instructions for the guest suite which was included in the rental to make it a "4 bedroom home" which I say loosley. One of the bedrooms is a sunroom and gets very very hot and doesn't have many curtains to cover up the windows for sleeping. The house was NOT as expected, it was much smaller and much older. I will say the location was awesome and the outdoor space was great, but there were so many things that made this house not worth the money. The portable AC unit wasn't even connected to a window and was blowing hot air back into the house. My fiance had to connect it and we then used cardboard to block the rest of the open window. The description said it had a drip coffee maker, it did not. I asked the owner about this and he said.. oh yeah, we need to update the description and never offered to give us a discount if we went out to buy one. We purchased one at the local store for $30 and left it there for the next guests. The kitchen is very very small and some of the pots and pans and dishes that were in the cupboard were dirty. I would not recommend staying at this house unless the new owner (who has owned it for 2 weeks) does some major improvements. I was very disappointed in the house and accomodations for the price we paid!

Summary: Overall we all had an Amazing experience, we stayed at this beautiful home from Friday June 10th to Monday June 13th, everything look clean and in placed. The owner of the property called me the day off and was very helpful. The home was right on the water, across from the sun bar so that was pretty fun for everyone. We enjoyed the fire place and watching late night movies in the livingroom. The only thing that was not there was the white fence. So pictures do need to be updated. Thank you.

Summary: My friends and I had such a wonderful stay at the cottage on Torch Lake. Some of my friends had never been to Michigan, and none of us had ever been to Torch Lake. This trip had many wonderful firsts for us and this cottage was the perfect little home to us for the weekend.

Summary: Nice location except on busy road. Beautiful beach area. Full amenities. Advertised the back porch as a sleeping area but it was not heated and very cold in September. Advertised laundry facilities but sign on laundry room "for housekeeping only". Detached guest room/ bath nice but no TV, wifii or extra blankets...we were there in September. Nice dock for watching beautiful sunsets..but it was pulled out when we were out for lunch on Friday :( Over all nice stay.

Summary: The location to the sandbar was great for swimming right off the dock. The cottage upon check in was dirty. A bed was missing due to previous guests and some issue they had. We didn’t need it but just seemed odd it wasn’t replaced or noted. Overall the cottage was good but we did have an issue with a mouse and due to timing and not wanting to wait for the owner to come the next day with traps we went out and bought some and caught it that night in the kitchen. Outside lounge areas were not cleaned or taken care of. Furniture was wet and moldy and there was used grill utensils and toys around the yard when we arrived. The beach was dirty and all most of the furniture was laying on the beach instead of organized and cleaned up for arrival. Those things would hopefully be expected of most guests upon arrival and for a rental with the daily costs of this cottage. Overall a good stay but left a few things to be desired of a lakeside rental.
