A fully equipped kitchen and BBQ area allows you to cook some fresh sea food you “might have just picked up” from the Satellite Fish Market at the end of Beacon Ave right on the pier. Located just two minutes from Roberts Bay beach (Shoal Harbor Migratory Bird Sanctuary), a great place for paddle boarding or kayaking. Bus routes are minutes from your door, letting you explore and take in this beautiful hidden oasis within Canada. Sidney has a small town feel complete with everything you need from shopping to ocean side dining. Enjoy picturesque strolls along the seaside walkway, after grabbing a coffee from one of the many choices of shops and a little something from the Sidney bakery. The suite is just minutes from the airport and 15-20 walk or 5 minutes by car to downtown Sidney.

Summary: The whole process from my initial inquiry to staying on the property was seemless thanks to Jason. He thought of everything and was in regular contact to check that we were OK. Lovely little touches included milk, wine and chocs as he knew we were arriving late, leaving the outside light on and telling us about 2 small steps as you enter the property, which was really helpful after travelling for almost 24 hours. Can't recommend this place enough and the pictures didn't do it justice. Thanks Jason!

Summary: We just completed a one week stay in this unit. And while the pictures and description are accurate, there are a number of issues that people should know about before renting this unit. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals and struggle to understand how this rental has so many 5 star ratings. First of all this is a basement unit and it looks, feels, and smells like a basement unit. The unit has a very musty smell that confronts you each and every time you come into the unit. There is an air purifier running 24/7 which does nothing to alleviate the musty smell. The unit is described as ground level entry which is not 100% accurate...there are 2 small steps to navigate upon entering the unit which takes you into the shared laundry area and then to the actual unit door. The living room furniture is old and very uncomfortable. The arms on the furniture are so high that you barely see over them plus you sink down a long way when you sit in them. While sitting in the furniture we noticed our foot stuck to the floor and on further inspection it appears that it is the glue that is meant to bond the laminate flooring to the cement below. The glue was oozing out in at least two locations and even though we tried to wipe it up a couple of times it kept oozing out throughout our stay. We believe this speaks to the dampness/mustiness of the unit as clearly the glue is not curing. Do not turn on the dishwasher if intend to watch TV or have a conversation as it is extremely loud, and old. Beware that there is zero sound insulation between the unit and upstairs, you hear every single footstep as well as the TV from upstairs. The footsteps are made even worse by the fact that the people upstairs wear hard soled footwear. Plus, the floors in the upstairs home squeak so you hear that as well. The bathroom. For starters, it is very small. There is absolutely no grab bar to use when entering or exiting the tub, and the tub is extremely slippery. There is a rubber bathmat to put down, however when we went to put that in the tub it was full of hair. The shower head is about as cheap as one can buy with very little pressure. While the bed was comfortable it is very high to get in and out of especially if you are a shorter person. We struggled to keep the unit warm even though we had fantastic weather during our stay. We could not get Netflix and this was not resolved during our stay, Jason did however provide a small gift card for the inconvenience.Cannot recommend

Summary: This cute place has everything you need inside and outside including a nice seating area and a BBQ. The hosts were friendly and responded to our questions promptly. This is our 2nd stay and will definitely stay again if it's available.

Summary: This property is a welcoming place to stay with good communication with the host. It is very well equipped. You can walk into Sidney, 3 minutes to the Bus Stop into Victoria and easy access to the road systems for getting around. 10 minutes from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal. John and Joy upstairs were so friendly and helpful with advice when we asked as was Jason the owner. We would not hesitate in recommending a stay here.

Summary: Exceeded my expectations and provided me with a space to unplug and restore. Could choose the ocean close by or the 15 min walk downtown with ocean views and shops restaurants etc. Just know the shops close at 5 pm and restaurants do close 8-10 pm The house was very equipped with everything I needed and more. Jason was very helpful with directions when needed as I was walking and gave info on good places to eat etc. Definitely would return. Dar
