Positive: Wonderful views of Nepal country valley and village. Mountains also when not raining. Feels remote and peaceful. Excellent hosts, will be as involved as you like. Krishna is also a trekking guide so plan a walk with him. He is very knowledgeable and speaks good English. Added excitement from a leopard stealing an animal in the night.
Negative: The remoteness could be a problem, no shops, no local attractions except locals at work .

Positive: Mone's Mountain View is a litte hotel in Ghachok. It's being run by Krishna and his family. Both, Krishna and his brother are excellent guides and can take guests on hikes in the region. We enjoyed their company and knowledge very much. The food is excellent and freshly prepared by Krishna's wife Santa. The views of the mountain range are spectacular. Also, Ghachok is by far less touristic than Ghandruk. For those who want to learn more about Nepal and life in rural areas, this is the perfect spot.

Positive: I spent 10 days in this very comfortable family hotel and i had a wonderful time there thanks to Krishna and his lovely wife Santa. View of Annapurna was exceptional and the food was delicious, Santa makes great dal-bat and great soups. It is a perfect place if you want to take some time alone, if you want to stay in a quiet and remote place away from crowd. You can do yoga and meditation on the roof top of the hotel. Krishna is a guide and can take you for treks if you wish. He took me on his motorbike to many places such as hot springs, tea plantations, Himalayan bridges and beautiful landscape. He introduced me to many local people and I learned a lot about Nepalese culture. Santa can teach you cooking and you can help her in her vegetable garden if you wish. I felt like home there and I can only recommend this place. Next time I will bring my family Thanks a lot to both of you🙏

Positive: When planning my visit to Pokhara I opted to skip Lakeside Pokhara and stay in the village of Dithal in the hills outside of Pokhara and it was the best decision ever. Astoundingly beautiful views of the Annapurna Mountains from my room, the rooftop, everywhere. Owner and guide Krishna accompanied me on walks through villages where he told me stories about the families who live there and I was able to sit and “talk” with them. Everyone was so kind, offering me fruit and tea. I am, ironically, afraid of heights, but Krishna was able to plan walks that were within my comfort zone (he does serious trekking with those who are not afraid),. I feel my visit to Nepal would not have been complete without sharing with this rural community. Krishna’s wife Shanta was so kind also and a great cook who provided me with endless masala tea, a new addiction! As we went back down the hill road the last day she presented me with a red flower, put red paint on my forehead and placed a silk scarf around my neck for luck and a blessing. I recommend this home stay hotel to anyone who wants to really visit authentic Nepal.. Lakeside in Pokhara would have been a mistake. Lakes are many but hillside Nepali villages are once in a lifetime. Obviously clean, good water pressure and hot water, etc.
Negative: If you have a fear of heights there are some challenges driving up, but the owner and his wife accompanied me in a taxi and all was well. The driver had experience and was very good, so just make sure Krishna arranges the transport for you.
Summary: Amazing, authentic Nepal - skip Pokhara and head to the hills! Mone’s Mountain View!
